Lore question OBVIOUS SPOILERS
Okay, so ive played a decent amount of persona games, 4, 3 (a long time ago where i forgot everything, honestly, could say this is my first time playing persona 3 its been that long), and 5. And my question is, are these "worlds" connected? like the midnight channel, could SEES go into the midnight channel, and could the Duwang gang go into tartarus? I mean in persona 4 they did go to gekkokaun, and they didnt experience the dark hour (as far as i know), so im genuinely confused as to if theyre connected or not. I mean same with the little animal bros you get, like morgana, he asks if hes human or not. Which is an obvious poke at teddie, the protags are all wild cards with the ability to obtain and summon many personas.

TL;DR, the games are all so similar yet so different at the same time. How do they connect? whats the lore on the "other worlds" and the velvet room?

if the person have a Persona they can experience the dark hour and Tatatarus, in Persona 4 Arena the P4 team did experience the Dark Hour in Inaba. look at the crossover games like Q were past and future teams experience the same stuff.

3-5 are loosely connected.

Unless its a spinoff like Arena, they won't mention each other in their stories directly. But there are still little references, like a Rise poster in 5.

And Margaret mentions Elizabeth if you fight her in 4.

What do you mean by "worlds"? They do share the same universe, they just happen at different times and places, like you said, they even go to Gekko High a year later, but by then the Dark Hour's already over, so they don't experience it. There are little hints and references between them but that's it, the only real difference is where they fight the shadows (Dark Hour, TV World, Metaverse)

P4 was where the series was last written by some semblance of the original team. You could say it peaked then since gameplay hasn’t evolved after P4G, and instead took steps backwards in ways that save money or are lazy attempts to pander (recycling personas as enemies to save on designing unique enemies, necromancing features that were ported more successfully to other games, etc.)

So how do they connect, Velvet Rooms?
It reflects the heart of the one who signs the contract, which is why in Persona 5 it was the cup room and all your party members were there too, right? Oh yeah, aforementioned lazy writing…

Don’t read into anything in Persona 5 as relevant to the previous games. It’s pandering and archetype copying to the point where they should have just called it Sequel 5.
In this same cycle of writing they also had Tartarus appear in Inaba, sooo…what are you really asking? How many plot holes are connected?

Also Persona 1 is also tied into Persona 3 because it mentions one of the characters' sure name during the beach vacation.

And also Yukari is also mentioned if you watch the TV in Lablanc on a certain day which I think is 12/2.

Id say the only ones that are directly tied in main story are 1, and the 2 duo games.

Those three full on have characters from previous games show up in the main story.

But 3-5 have neat references to each other. The connections come more in the sequel side games.

Is there any way this could possibly be more wrong xD?

P4G is my favorite. But saying that 5 added nothing new to gameplay is just hilariously wrong. Just look at the dungeons not being randomized anymore. 3 and 4 all had randomized layouts, which work well. But 5 has actual level design.

That's 100% wrong because P5 brought back some game play mechanics that were in Persona 1 and 2. Such as demon negotiations and using guns. Not to mention the design of the Dungeons evolved.

It's the same universe... in fact the entire series is.

1 Occured
2-1 (Innocent Sin) reset the universe... and failed at it because of
2-2 (Eternal Punishment) finished the reset.... setting the stage for....
3
4 has you actually visit the school 3 takes place in, so while no, the events are not DIRECTLY connected, they share a universe.
and the same with 5: where your pop star who's name illudes me right now in 4 continues to have a music career... and you see her posters about the place.

You forgot about SMT: If

That’s actually the first game in the persona timeline.
