A few tips for new players for managing time/SP in Tartarus
  • You want to try to clear up to blocked section of Tartarus in one go to maximize the time you can spend doing social links and stat boosting. Its not critical if you take 2 days or more but you will lose out on time especially on your first playthru that could be used for other boosts.
  • Always buy SP recovery items from the multiple vending machines scattered around
  • Look for a skill card you can get on your first visit called Spirit Drain, this can be used on the OP to give him a SP Draining attack. When your SP gets low you can easily go to first floor, drain a few enemies and max out your SP letting you push much farther

Honestly, if you are planning to go for a second playthrough, it doesn't matter that you are wasting time. Because on the second playthrough you are going to have a LOT of free time at nights with maxed out stats.

It's a waste of time going for Spirit Drain on the first Tartarus run, even with Arcana Burst it's a super rare card. I've spent the past day and a half farming for it on floors 18-20 and haven't seen it once.

Also, after people start getting stuck in there, always go on the last day unless its a social link trapped and you have not maxed it as its easier and you dont have to go on multiple occasions.

Agreed, I'd rather recommend fusing Leanan Sidhe at level 21 and level it up to 22 to get Spirit Drain. Far more reliable way to get access to it. Alternative, fuse Naga and level it to 22 for Invigorate 1, then go solo the first few floors while just defending the entire time for a steady 3 SP per turn. Not as quick by far, but more mindless than running from shadow to shadow to find fresh sources of SP.

Tartarus has 264 floors??? That is insanely repetitive. Not sure this is the game for me. Score for gamepass.

If you want to maximize time for links these tips will go a long way.

If school is in session avoid these links.

Old couple, maiko, suimitsu and hayase.

The game is going to start relentlessly taking days from you and you don’t want to complete these links to quickly cause you’ll need them during days off to avoid wasting time.

Secondly there will come times when progressing links to where even if you answer questions favorably and have a compatible persona you still won’t be able to rank up.

This will happen at kazushi rank 8
Yuko rank 4 and 8
Chihiro rank 7
And it will happen with yukari, fuuka, mitsuru and aeigis at various ranks.

On certain Sundays your friends will call to hang out which will up your link don’t worry about rushing maya in the early game you’ll have a few Sundays to spare before kamiki is available.

May 31st Yuko will call you to hang out which is a good opportunity to get her going forward again cause she’ll require a second hangout at rank 4.

Kazushi and kenji also call a lot to hang out on Sundays but you shouldn’t waste a Sunday on kenji cause as long as you answer most favorably he will always rank up.

Finally there’s your female S.E.E.S. teammates.

Do not waste a day slot upping their link ever because their links can be moved forward at night by doing activity’s with them.

Tartarus was one of the worst things about persona 3, but they did make it more bearable in reload
