As for OP: it's almost always useless. Save the Fragments for chests and just take a break from the Dark Hour. You don't need to do the entire section in one day.
Sure the early game CAN be rough on your sp but that's absolutely the point (As the characters you basically have no clue what you're doing).
Feel free to use SP-items (if you have them) in order to make a final push for the day (you will get plenty of them later on) or just duck out and continue some other day. Ideally be on the lookout for abilities like Invigorate on persona's, gear or w/e. But I wouldn't go as far to spend Twilight Shards on the minor clock; those shards are better served to open >1-locks chests for the potential to drop gear and/or skill cards.
It will get easier later on though... to a point you'll just leave whenever you get bored...
It isn't a big deal at night, especially early game when you don't have unlocked the interactions in the dorm or the URLs allowing you to increase your bond with someone. You can "waste" a dozen of nights if you feel like it. Sure, you'll increase your social stats slower, but it's not like you'll run out of social links at day, even if some will be locked behind a level cap. There are plenty (too much) of characters available at daytime, and you'll eventually reach rank 6 in every social stat before having a day without any social link available.
One waste of time would be to try to grind your social stats during daytime.
still like using my money instead of using the fragment tho, just like the old p3 :D
Yes but you can miss out on social links if you don't start/complete them by a certain time, and you won't have time to finish as many as many of the social links require certain stats to progress or start.
Make sure to hit up the vending machines early game and constantly buy the SP restoring items.
Who ?
Well i might be thinking more Persona 4, but I remember a few
Mitsuru - Need max academics and to ace one of your exams
Sun - requires Smart level of Academics
Devil - Charm Rank 4
etc
There are quite a few with various requirements that if you don't get your stats up until late it can be hard to finish them.
Rank 4 isn't hard to reach, especially if you do the dorm activities/link episodes/events such as the film festival that provide passive boosts. Sun and Devil are pretty forgiving, requiring no matching Personas and being available on long periods of times (the sunday is especially a free day, you can keep hermit for the holidays).
