How high does academics need to be for tests?

i assume for the first tests you just need to be level 2? i don't think theres really enough time to hit more than that in the first month

If you're doing this for either the achievement or Mitsuru's link then rest assured you can be lvl 6 easily once you hit your exams... and if you can't manage to pull that off there's always NG+

I reached lvl 3 before the first tests and got the best score (but I think lvl 2 is all you need for top 10), it's definitely possible if you prioritize it

For 1st place:
3 for the 1st test
5 for the 2nd
6 for the 3rd

Academics improves really slowly too, so don't put it off if you want the benefits. I swear it needs like 3x or even 4x the amount of trait experience compared to courage and charm.

You need level 2 Academics to get into the top 10 in the class (I assume level 3 will get you the top spot)

You can get the top spot in the second round of exams with level 4 Academics

The last exam needs Level 6.

You'll need to put a lot of time into academics, but as long as you're level 4 before summer vacation and you have courage and charm maxed/close to max, you can spend the rest of your night times in the Wakatsu restaurant and will get maxed academics by the time the third round of exams come around (and well before Mitsuru's social link opens up in late November..

You can get to level 3 easy enough if you prioritise the arcade and Wakatsu, and probably neglect social links a little. You'll want to be strategic - make use of jobs to get the money you need to visit the arcade whenever it's doing the quiz game. I don't think I ever actually "study" in P3P, because it's ironically the absolute worst way to get academics, and that seems to still be true here.

I love the "go to the library to study" prompts before test times. Like, yes, let me go and earn just as much academic rating as I would by simply studying in my bedroom, both of which are the absolute worst ways to build the stat. smh let me just go eat some fish and become a genius.

Also the New night study group things are a thing in Reload the time before the exams if you are following a guide with in reason you should be able to get to Rank 3 Academics before the tests. Man these new Quality of life features to be able to rank up social stats faster is very nice.

If you're real liquid, you can always gamble at the shrine too with 10k donations. Most of the time will only pop the two notes, but if you get real lucky, you get the triple notes, making it the best method of improving academics outside of the final study group of each pre-exam time.
