This game seems to be real easy so far
Up to the 3rd mini boss floor 17 and have not had a hard battle yet.Even he was not that difficult. Playing on normal. Think I will change it to hard.

Yeah these games are meant to be played on hard I think. Like there's no way they balance the encounters around the normal difficulty snoozefest.

I mean, it's a turn based jrpg. Of course it isn't going to be hard. And the Persona series as a whole is an easier spinoff series from SMT.

my teen years remembering fighting like 30min boss battle on PS2 on P3fes and P4 dunno if back then i unknowingly select hard difficulty or something

The first section of Tartarus isn't very hard. It starts to pick up when you hit the first main boss and start getting introduced to more annoying enemies and tricky optional encounters. I would say it still wasn't all that difficult on normal getting through the second section of Tartarus, but I did come close to dying a time or two. I would argue the real challenge of the game though is just SP management so far.

If you get through the first boss and still think the game is way too easy, I feel that's the latest point you could realistically restart if you wanted to slam up to merciless instead. Too far after that and it just gets to be a lot to redo even with the fast forward functionality.

I play on merciless and the game felt just right in difficulty for me, i did die to a certain gatekeeper a couple of times bc i didnt have the right skills but other than that ive not had to load saves much

The enemys arnt hard and i honestly think the bosses are a bit hard, but so far i only defeated the 2 second boss and but i wont count it in(people who fight the second boss knows why i dont count it in) yet the first boss was challenging. Not hard but not easy.

They keep making the Persona games easier and easier tbh.

The people who are mostly in it for the anime / social links / visual novel stuff probably won't care, but they keep ruining the game economy by just handing out freebies.

Pretty soon every Persona game is going to be

Persona 6 Royal:

--You have infinite money
--You have infinite SP
--Every Persona can be any other Persona you want instead. Up to you!
--Strongest persona in the game? Go ahead and have it. enjoy!

It's just what happens when a game finally takes off for a series. Look at P5, and what do people most often latch onto with it? The style, the music, and the characters. Learning the battle system was just a necessary part of getting to the next thing players really wanted to see. The consequence of this is that Atlas understands why P5 is popular and is now going to use that as the refining point for the series going forward. It's no longer the series you play because you want to be slapped by BS every six steps because of how fun it is to get to sling your own BS back in turn.

It's probably one of the major reasons P1 and P2 will just keep getting ignored too. Those games were so heavily defined by their difficulty, among everything else Atlas would probably feel the need to change, the games would ultimately just kind of fall flat if remakes were too comparatively easy.

The game has too many mechanics to make it very easy.
I've made-up some self-imposed limitations playing on hard like not going for an all-out attack and not switching characters when I knock 1 enemy out. It's still very easy. I've been enjoying battles more like this.

Once you get Fuuka the difficulty really takes a Nose dive

Anything special with what was there? I only remember struggling with one of the main bosses, namely Lovers
