Persona 4 Remake, Persona 2 Remaster rumoured to be in the works..

I'm very surprised that Persona 2 is just getting a remaster when Persona 4 is getting a complete remake.

Unfortunate. P2 has possibly the best story of the entire franchise, only passed by my eternal bias for p3.

Strange Journey does have an interesting story but 80% of the time you're just grinding and walking around even if you don't want to. Meanwhile Digital Devil Saga have a crap story and they try to hype it so much by giving you a bunch of cutscenes while you're just trying to explore and grind.

Just comes down to preference at this point. Devil Survivor is one of my favorites and top picks when it comes to story. Even more so than Strange Journey for me.

It absolutely needs some work done. Right now, SMT4+Apoc, Strange Journey Redux and SMTV are all stuck on handheld Nintendo consoles and need to be rescued from that trash prison they are stuck in, into a proper system. For that to work at least some menuing changes need to be done for the 3DS games.

Playing RPGs on a handheld is miserable and the experience doesn't improve on PC through emulation because emulating those dual screen games is also miserable.

A P2 remake would be like Rockstar remaking GTA 1 in the same formula as GTA 3 and onwards, it would be a completely different game and require a ton of extra effort that would be better spent just making a new game. Not to mention, P2 is split into two whole games. A remaster is a low risk low effort way to introduce it to modern audiences.

A P4 remake can just follow the same formula as Reload. Improve the graphics, dungeons, and combat, give the UI and soundtrack a fresh coat of paint, and maybe add some new hangout events.

right here. id love p1/2 as well not having played them but only if theyre upto current p-series standards and most likely thatd take a lot lot longer and resources away from games we really wanna get into. i mean we're already playing p3...a remaster of a ps2 game. of course we're expecting the answer added soon (i think??) and femc...i guess nothing confirmed but im hoping they change their mind and people keep asking

Well I think its more fair to say that P4 doesn't need a remake just yet. P1 and P2 definitely need it more. I'm not saying to fully adapt P1/P2 to the modern persona formula, but it def needs a remake of sorts.

the thing is, 4 is an amazing product even as a PSVITA port, and as much as i'd like P4 with P3R/P5 graphics, I'd much rather prefer them to focus on P6 or even on a P1 remake to bring that game to a newer audience, it makes no sense for them to focus on remaking an already solid game, P3 was showing its age, but P4 has aged quite well.

I am more interested in Metaphor than in the Persona 4 remake because I feel that Persona 4 Doesn't need a remake.

So you are okay with forcing characters to change for a narrative? That is honestly kinda ♥♥♥♥. Rewriting characters or changing story elements for no other reason than to pander is horrible.

Like i don't care if someone is gay or bi or whatever, but let it be natural. Forced is just annoying and typically soulless. Almost always very noticeable when it's the case too. Forcing it also just insults the people it's representing (be it gay or trans or whatever) and makes them look worse in the eyes of other people.

There is same sex relationships in a couple of my favorite audible books but i don't bat an eye because they are done naturally just like any other relationship. They arent shoved in my face or done super shallow as hell. They are simple solid representations where they are just people and not freakin mascots.

But for the record, Kanji is most likely very much bi. Thats how i feel about his max social link encounter. Or straight with an acknowledgement he can find masculine things attractive. I don't care either way. I still max him every time i play Persona 4. One of my favorite characters in the game.

Honestly, I did not see it happening but if the most reliable leaker says it is happening I guess it is at this point. But then we will all be in the same position as we are now. People complaining about themes and tones of the game especially P2 and P4 themes. Then we all know it will cost $70 and that people complain about said price tag.

We will need to see what they will do for P2 on the themes and characters. On P4, they need to keep everything the same like P3R. No changes to the characters or themes because they were great in the game.
