lolwut? It was a change incorporated by the devs. Not only do I think they're far better placed than you to know whether their intent was to make a faithful remake or not, I don't think they need to ask your permission before doing whatever they like with their work; it's their work, not yours.
Nailed it.
Also a weird hill to die on "we have to have our bigotry in the game! We must! Its the author's intent to be bigoted!"
People who cry "censorship" just want their discriminatory behaviors validated.
To make it analogous with what I've been saying, you shouldn't be toning down the lyrics on a subsequent recording.
This is a pretty sad attempt at strawmaning on your part.
Hey bro just say you hate trans people or something and take the mask off it's really boring seeing you dance around all of this.
However, we would NEVER see the phases "Islamic/Hindu/Buddhist" propaganda because it would be considered wildly offensive and inappropriate. So, there is very much a double standard when they want to cut a cross dresser to avoid offending westerners, but leave a line insinuating that Christianity is a lie.
Having said that, I would question any Christian that plays this game because it very much pushed other deities, and pushes things like demon summoning and tarot cards. It's a pretty edgy franchise.
What do you think would happen if an enemy design was a flamboyant gay stereotype, or if it delivered dialogue to that effect?
Yeah, let's not talk about who's losing their minds.
You're equating the two. The LGBTQ+ community simply wishes to be represented fairly and cared for equally among the normative space of our existence. The religious, however? Let's not get into "dangerous" conversation lines...especially considering you're provoking them.
My 12 year old daughter was pushed to get puberty blockers because she said she's "non-binary" and we don't support/agree.
The very pro LGBT school district was pushing her to get medical treatment without our concent because in California it's allowed for "trans"children.
The kicker? Our daughter thinks she's non-binary because, "I don't like boys... but I don't like girls either."
So, yeah, there are dangerous things going on, and we will never again live in California because we were getting concerned for our daughrers' health and safety. Fortunately, we never fully established CA residency, so when police got involved my family was free to move with me to Alaska for my permenant change of station.
I usually see some people wondering why so many Japanese anime and video games take imagery from Christianity. The answer is pretty simple:
it's because Christian imagery goes hard.
I'm personally happy that they at least left in the scenes where the female teacher shows her being attracted to a minor and they also left in the scene where that one loli character Maiko says how she want's to get married.
Twitter is currently seething about Atlus leaving these scenes in, calling them criminals, wanting them in jail etc. Makes me wonder what was the point of removing that scene and pander to them, it's literally never enough to them. Besides, let's be real here, they would have still bought the game even if the beach scene would be untouched.
Consoomers unironically do not understand the concept of having principles because they don't have any and their views change with the wind based on whatever their favorite big YouTuber's 60min video essay they watched that day.
Currently the same people are fine with censorship and awful localization are also crying about Japan removing the pronoun scene from the new Transformers series. It's hilarious how quickly they change their views.
Everything is too young about the education of gender-affirming situations. Sorry that you had to go through that. At the same time, I can't deny that you made the absolutely right decision; I believe that everyone has to educate themselves more on these matters before making hasty decisions like that.
I think that everyone's impatience is the biggest vice when it comes to a lot of things. Everyone's too extreme about matters. It's black and white. All-in or nothing.
Live and let live, but also be aware, y'know?
I hope you can talk with your daughter and reassure her and do your best to understand her as you go forward in the world of difficulty that is parenthood.
