Why are people buying this?

It always confuses me why people would pay over $100 for a game when it is available for free on Xbox game pass? (of course there is a monthly subscription, but still a lot better value than paying full price for all these games!)

EDIT: do people not realise you don't need to own an XBOX?

It's more so it comes to pc. For a long time, they only released Persona games on playstation.

I enjoyed the portable version, and this version is a sheer improvement which makes me intend to play/revisit in the long term.
Games like this are only on gamepass temporarily, once it's removed from the catalogue you no longer retain access, and while you can regain save data by purchasing from windows store i have heard some questionable experiences with saves being completely wiped.

It's a bad port. I have more hours and only had my first crash yesterday, so that's a matter of time. But since there are so many more issues and annoyances with the PC port, it's silly for you to complain about launchers.

Runs pretty alright on my PC. Maybe the issue is with your PC and/or launcher?

Not that this line of reasoning makes any sense. Why would Microsoft's bad software be any less bad even if I used it to play bad games? If someone shot me in the right leg, it wouldn't make me any more willing to get shot in the left leg.

It's because their new strategy is to push Xbox as a hardware agnostic gaming platform rather than being tied to their console. Though given they don't seem to understand why they keep losing the console war, or for that matter why 'Games for Windows' failed I can't see their efforts being any more successful.
It's one of the reasons I wouldn't trust game pass; Microsoft's history with live services is rather patchy.
