Why are people buying this?
It always confuses me why people would pay over $100 for a game when it is available for free on Xbox game pass? (of course there is a monthly subscription, but still a lot better value than paying full price for all these games!)

EDIT: do people not realise you don't need to own an XBOX?
Game pass is on PC

The game can't communicate with the controller. That's done via Direct Input and entirely controlled by Windows (and front ended by Steam input if you're running the Steam version). If it's continually reporting disconnected it's usually a good indicator of a loose connection or driver/bus conflict.

Nope. The issue was isolated to this game. The controller doesn't actually disconnect. I only press a button to deactivate the prompt each time it happens.

Not to mention the Vanillaware stuff they've published, or the fact that the two releases we know of this year, one being another Vanillaware title, aren't Persona related.
Though yeah, if we ignore the two other teams at Atlus it turns out their P-team, which was set up entirely to produce Persona games, has produced a lot of Persona games over the past decade. Who'd have thunk it?

They've not really changed much - pre Sega they had about four different types of games and just rehashed the graphics and story around. After Sega they've got five different types of games they rehash the graphics and story around - the new one being rhythm game.

Dragon's Crown was Vanillaware. I do not count the games published by Vanillaware as Atlus specific; I just count Vanillaware as the one company which hasn't put their games on PC yet. Considering Atlus publishes their stuff though, I hope they never do because they'll just ruin it with Denuvo.

Radiant Historia Perfect Chronology was released 5.5 years ago now. It got zero advertisement, as opposed to the multiple Persona games that Atlus pushes out.

The most we've gotten out of Atlus lately which wasn't Persona was Soul Hackers 2 (underadvertised) and the Etrian Odyssey Switch/PC ports (which were horribly done). All their effort and budget only goes to Persona.

Persona is their money machine. For good reasons.

For the same reason vapid pop music outsells people with technical talent in music.

This is NOT free when you play it through Game pass, you still pay each month to be able to play it and to me I rather own my games then through a system like Game Pass.

Gamepass is good for short indy titles I would never buy, to tried out games that requires more than 2 hours to see if I like it, for example Humankind. To play games I know I will never play again. You like to play a long game until you completely finish it, first party games. For those who have a lot of free time for gaming.

Gamepass is not good with games with DLC and games which can get better over time especially with mods. Games I like to play again over a long period of time. To start playing a long game that been on Gamepass for a while that can be axed at any time. For those who have less free time for gaming.

From Persona 4 and 5 I figure Persona 3 will only be on gamepass for a year. The main reason I didn't start Persona 5 was because I knew it would leave before I finish the game as I was playing other titles including Starfield.
A lot of titles that comes to Gamepass are games I've already bought and often finished before it reaches Gamepass like BloodStain. (you can play Bloodstain on Gamepass for $10 a month or buy it on steam for $10)
Thus Gamepass for me is good to play games I never plan to buy the begin with like Persona 3.

PC gamepass is still not as good as Steam.

People should stop treating Game Pass as if it's even supposed to replace Steam or game ownership.

We used to have game rentals for physical console games, Now we have game rentals for digital games. Treat it as rental service, not as serious competitor for steam. It's not.

I agree but I was thinking of features like remote play and workshop. A few games on gamepass that has no cloud saves while it does on Steam.

I wish you to become an isekai hero at the beginning
No-one pays full price for anything which is great for the consumer but bad for the developer which leads to higher entry price with deep sales causing the game to be about the correct rrp you would buy. Game pass has made this worse.
