P5 had great everything, but the confidants were so lacking. I didn't enjoy most of them
P4 is a middle point. Not particularly great at anything (in comparison to the others, of course. It's an excellent game)
P3 always had rusty gameplay, odd art direction and meh voice acting (for the most part), but this has been fixed now and I'm enjoying this remake so much it's probably gonna be my favorite persona game
objectively - P4
1. P4 Golden
2. Persona 5
3. P3P (didn't play og P3 or FES)
After playing reloaded for 30+ hours so far I'd say it is now
1. P3 Reloaded
2. P4 Golden
3. P5
Story is easily the best in P3, social links are better in both P3 and P4 than P5.
P5 is still an awesome game though, it is just P3R and P4 Golden is even better (i might have some bias towards P4 Golden as it was my first persona, played it on Vita around when it came out)
P4 best in characters
P5 best in gameplay
And with this remake I feel that the gameplay is about just as good as P5, which made it an overall better game for me now
In fairness, I'm not sure I even got half way into Persona 4 and have been meaning to go back to it at some point.
I really want to say Persona 2 is pretty high on my list but it's been so long since I played it. Though it's hard to call it a "Persona" game in the modern sense of the series.
Any other opinion means you need to upgrade your grey matter.
On a side note, 5 is a terrible game in both JRPG design and it's story. ♥♥♥♥ feels like an 11 year old's fanfic.
Best story and now gameplay on par with Persona 5
Least favorite is P5. I loved the music, but the whole game (at least early on) just being 'adults suck' after having 2 more compelling (for me) plotlines for 3 and 4 just made it difficult for me to get into the storyline. I only ever got just barely past recruiting Yusuke and I just. Couldn't keep going.
