How is the save system?

Can you save everywhere at any time in this game? I know in persona 5 for example you cannot save everywhere.

You can save anywhere apart from tartarus but you can save in its loby. The rewind system is great also.

still same, only specific place and thankfully they keep this mechanic

Outside of the Dark Hour (basically Palaces/Mementos) you can save anywhere, but inside the Dark Hour you can only save at the entrance (which can be accessed through teleporters that function much the same as safe rooms) and not during the main boss missions (closest P5 equivelant would be after sending the calling card.)

Thanks. I have persona 5, but sometimes i become tired, want to go to bed, but still have to finish a part of the game because you cant save. I really dont like that. I hoped that maybe in this game you could save anytime. Maybe I try to play again on the steam deck, because if i put that to sleep i can stop anytime i want. Is there any reason to get P3 over playing P5 first? Is the story related to each other?

You can start with any Persona, except for 2, which is pretty much a continuation of 1.

Other than that, every game has references to older games, but nothing beyond that.
