Can you just befriend girls (not romance them) in this?
I'm a bit sad that I can't romance the guys, but that would be fine if in turn I could just befriend the girls instead of getting romantic with them.

I know it wasn't possible in the original, how is it in Reload?

Also ... whoever is calling this game woke, obviously didn't read all the dialogue about guys thirsting about the girls early in this game. Not complaining, but that's definitly not what I'd consider "woke".

Yes there are new alternative rank 10 for each of the romance options to stay friends and not enter a relationship with them. It's been confirmed by devs before release.

Hopefully we get more varied relationships in Persona 6 because yes it's a bit of a shame that the only representation we get is straight boring mute guy.

Yes you can keep the girls as just friends, there is a achievement for getting into a romantic relationship with one girl, but if you don't care about that can befriend them all.
Thank you for your answer, I didn't follow the development so much, I just know I loved the original but couldn't finish it cause my PS2 broke.

I hope they add or there eventually will be a mod to add the FemMC romance options (I'm fine if it's not voiced, too) and if it's really cool they make it possible to choose if you want to romance guys or girls. XD I mean my hopes are not very high, but a girl can dream :)...

I at least hope there will be a mod that allows me to pick "I'm not interested in women." in that one scene where 'someone' asks me what type of girls I like and similar scenes like that. xD then I could at least roleplay my guy as gay and waiting for the right guy.

I'm an ace hetero-romantic person, too. Did you ever hear of something called 'girls on the internet'? Novel idea I know :o

That said Queer Representation is always a plus in my book :)

Remember, you can't be phobic about the hets. Yu Narukami in pigtails in a dress is not real, the hets made it up to *pretend* to be progressive!

Couldn't you friend zone all the girls in the original, too? There is a while thing where you have to worry about being caught cheating if you choose to romance everyone
From what I have seen in the original as the Male Char you had to romance if you wanted to increase your Social Link to them. I read that the Female Char did indeed always have options, but I didn't get to play the PSP version in the day.

I could swear I had the option to turn them down at least in FES, but I could be remembering P3P. Maybe for FES I just held off on the higher ranks until towards the end.
It's been an eternity since I played the original xD... I don't even know if I romanced anyone. The only thing I remembered I always was sewing with Bebe.

It's Japan. Unless it's meant to be pornograpbic they'll usually never let same sex couples be apart of the main cast. At least with Atlus/Sega.

I would like to note that they did it in 1999 with Persona 2. They did it for women who shipped men together but the way the implemented it in the game felt a lot less like that was the case.

They also almost made Yosuke a romance option in Persona 4 but it got scrapped late in development.
