Overwhelmingly Positive... for real?

People must have a really low bar for what a good game is, because how this game can have overwhelmingly positive reviews makes absolutely no sense.

The only Persona game I've played is 5, and I think it's good but very overrated. This game thogh...

I have played for 10 hours, and it's the most boring 10 hours of my life. The world is very small with an even smaller game loop. Level a few stats and social links, and kill some monsters in the most bland repetitive dungeon in gaming history, and repeat, over and over and over and over again. This game could easily be condensed into a 15h game, but instead the bad designers want you to go through 260 identical dungeon floors and repeat the same stats grind cycle 10000 times. What a joke.

In Persona 5 you hade the palaces which made the whole thing interesting, but this is just the biggest slog of a game I've ever played. People say it get's better mid way. So apparently you're supposed to force yourself to play 25h of this crap before it get's interesting? No thanks.

I wonder how many fanboys this post will upset...

Just going to put this out here, SMT were dungeon crawlers and Persona games were dungeon crawlers until 5. I cannot comment if SMT is no longer one.

But Persona 3 and 4 had randomized layouts for floors for their dungeons. The only parallel in 5 for P3 and P4 dungeons is Mementos.

Everyone has their own opinion about the games they play, so it shouldn't be a surprise that reviews that are the polar opposite to your opinion makes no sense. You're entitled to your opinion about the game, just like others are to theirs. Don't judge other people's opinions on the game if you don't want others to judge your opinion on the game, given people on here generally have a short fuse anyways.

Haha son let me tell you something. This is a Persona 3 Reload Forum, not a PC forum. Why do you think you can post here even if you don't own the game on Steam? This forum is for discussing the game (which is the same on all platforms), not to discuss PC.

Sounds like it simply wasn't your type of game. Different people, different interests.

The one thing about games being too expensive is a majority of fans will be buying the game.

You're likely not buying P3 unless you've played it before or have played other personas since, so you know what you're getting into.

Just ignore them, they tend to dismiss.

Give it a few weeks after release for the FOMO to wear off, the reviews should balance out around then.

I hate Persona as much as the next person who's ever played more than one JRPG franchise in their life, but even as much as I espout on these very boards how much I think people should move on from it, I still think people should have a right to like it.

How did Persona 3 get Overwhelming Positive score?
1. It's an old game. Many people already know what is Persona 3 already. Many already completed the game like, thrice.
2. It has an extensive advertising campaign, for half a year (iirc). No false advertising, the game is exactly what it shows.
3. It works well. No bug. No crash. A comparison can be made with GBF Relink, the 1 day older cousin of P3R. Is P3R a better game than GBF Relink? No, I don't think so. Does P3R run smoother? Hell yea.
4. The high price also work to limit the number of buyer.
That is how to get high review rating. Make good promises and deliver on it.

Tl;dr: People bought sandwiches (P3), got sandwiches, they happy, that simple. It is not burger (P5), and not like everyone have to eat burger to prove something.
