Because not every voice actor could be brought back for the roles, so they recast the roles and the original VAs were given new roles in the game.

Some of the OG VA were involved in controversies like Vic the OG VA for Junpei and the VA for Aigis was involved in vaccine discussions (She is anti-vaccines) Tara Platt and Yuri Lowenthal were probably busy doing the PS4/PS5/PC Spiderman game. Not sure about Liam or Michelle Ruff if they were busy or not. F u u k a's OG VA from P3/FES/P3P I heard from reading a YouTube comment saying that she wasn't professional VA and the performance of that character really suffered.

Nothing that far as far as I can find. Accounts that I can find about it were due to inappropriate actions towards attendees at conventions like kissing them on the cheek and other voice actors coming to the defense of the victims.

He still has work and still makes appearances at cons, but it's unlikely we'll see him voice in any high profile roles.

I don't know too much about it since I'm only looking into it now due to not knowing his roles in the past.

Yep. He died even before P5. This is why the whole voice change thing happened. They used some of his previously recorded voicelines though. And adopted them there. Completely new VA for P3R. He's doing pretty good.

Tbh, we've lost a lot of good Japanese VAs past few years. Keiji Fujiwara for instance. Guy had voiced some of my all-time favourite characters and had such a unique voice, it's very hard to find a suitable replacement.

Fuu's OG VA is a professional voice actress, just not given very good direction on Persona 3. She's pretty good in other stuff.

He creeped on underage girls at conventions (which was an open secret in the convention scene dating back to the early 2000s), then tried to sue his ex-coworkers for defamation after they began speaking out about him being a serial sexual harasser. He lost the suit because winning a defamation suit requires proof that the statements were false and made with malice, which he could not do.

Any work he gets now is largely through stuff he is part of management for.

It's most likely also licencing thing. They couldn't use OG audio because they Atlus already got kicked in the head for the PSP Portial port audio. Second the OG actores most likely didn't have pay for the Recreated version of the game. Plus how many of them could sound like they did when first did the voices. and Mixing old actors and new actors almost never works.
