No matter how great the game may be and how much they actually "remake" it instead of just "remaster" it, the production costs is lower than an original game. They didn't need to write a story, they already had one. I'm not privy to tech details, but the game probably runs on the most recent engine used in the series, so they didn't have to create that either. Unlike the original, they don't need to supply physical supports to sell, either.
So by any means, this game shouldn't be priced as a big AAA title, brand new and shiny. But of course, shills and hardcore fans will fetch the pitchforks and torches and tell you that it could very well be priced even higher and they are very generous in only pricing it this "low".
And of course, we also need to factor of the cost represented by including Denuvo.
It's kinda the same issue with the "new" Final Fantasy 7. Yeah, it's a remake, the game looks alot better, the mechanics are better, the story is the same but expanded upon, so maybe it justifies the price of a new game... But they release it in episodes, and each episode is priced like a new game.
I dunno. The only reason I've bought this full price (but basic version, DLCs is a bit too much for me and not worth the money) - the ability to walk in these locations in full 3D glory. Feels great. They've kept the style and did a very good job at it.
Sorry, points poor rn.
It's a very faithful remake, meaning it's the same old Tartarus grind. Back when this was first announced, people theorized that they would expand the full moon operations into "palaces" and downscale Tartarus, but that didn't happen.
False. The devs have already gotten paid. They don't make the decision on how much the game costs. It's the higher ups, not the devs, who are greedy pigs.
