What Happened to Yukari and Junpei?

I'm not sure if they changed voice actors, but they sound really off. Yukari has trouble delivering a believable tone in most of her lines, and Junpei is trying WAY TOO HARD and sounds very unnatural. It's a shame because I thoroughly enjoyed both of their performances in the original games.

On the plus side, Mitsuru sounds great as ever and I am really digging Akihiko's new voice over, so it's not all bad.

That's exactly what happened if I'm not mistaken it's part of why I'm waiting for steep discount on this game to try it. One issue I've had with remakes lately is you ask for one thing, and they do multiple other things music is one thing, but some of the changes it's taken me awhile to get over it have fond memories of P3: FES regardless of how hard it was etc etc.

They recast the VA's for this game compared to the PS2/PSP versions, due to various reasons; one being Junpei's original English VA is Persona Non Grata in the VA industry due to s****l harassment.
Igor's original Jpn VA passed prior to 2016 (his voice in Persona 5 was archival recordings), so he needed a recast as well.

junpei was replaced for obvious reasons but i see no issue recasting michelle ruff other than ageism. I enjoyed her for Yukari her delivery was more believable

And F u u k a's OG VA for P3P and P3/FES wasn't even a professional VA from what I have read/heard and the performance for that character really suffered. And the VAs for Mitsuru and the male Protag and Ryoji were most likely busy doing the PS4/PS5/PC Spiderman game. The VA for Aigis had some controversial takes on Vaccines. Not sure about Liam nor Michelle Ruff other than they are too well known and wanted more money than Atlus wanted to spend. I agree I saw no reason not to use Michelle Ruff again as Yukari because she worked with them before with Persona 5/Royal unless they wanted to go in a different direction in terms of cast members.
