Not sure if I should buy it
I'm not sure if I should buy this game.

Don't get me wrong, the game looks AMAZING, and I've been a long-time Persona fan since the very first P3 came out in the PS2 back in 2007, but what makes me hesitant to buy it, is that Atlus has had a long history of releasing updated and expanded versions of their games after release, essentially forcing you to buy the same game twice.

They released Persona 3 way back in 2007, then they released the updated version Persona 3 FES in 2008.

They released Persona 4 in 2008, then they released Persona 4 Golden in 2012 (For the PS Vita, 2020 for Steam, and 2023 for everywhere else).

They released Persona 5 (2016 on PS3/4), then they released Persona 5 Royal on 2019 (PS4, for PC it came in 2022)

While in my youth I had no problem shelling out for PS3, and PS3 FES, as well as PS4 and then later PS4 Golden (More justified in the latter since I never had a PS Vita and only bought it when it came out on steam) my economic situation is not such that I can afford to buy the same game twice. That's why I never bought Persona 5, and instead waited for them to release Persona 5 Royal and bought that one instead.

But this game is different, because this is not a new persona game, this is a remake of a previous persona game, so I honestly have no idea if this is the one and only version they're doing, or if they have plans to do a sort of Persona 3 Reloaded FES game later down the line, which includes the missing stuff like The Answer, and the Female Protagonist.

Either option is possible. And the fact that I have no clue what their plans are, means I have no idea if I should just buy this one, or wait what could end up being several years to see if they announce anything.

I am, but I WILL feel like a complete sucker if I shell out the almost 400,000 Colombian Pesos it costs, for the premium edition, only to later find out next year or so that they're doing a FES-style edition.

I wouldn't have a problem with these "Enhanced editions" if they were offered for free (or at least with a hefty discount) to existing owners as DLC, but the fact that I have to pay full price for any potential Royal-style edition serves as a deterrent for me to just buy any Persona game at release.

If this was Persona 6, I'd wait, because the Royal-style edition is a certainty.

But because this is a remake of an already released game, I have no clue if this is as much as we're going to get, or if they have plans to make a FES Reloaded later on.

when it comes to different versions of games like that you just ask yourself do they add any more content that pertains to the story i had played and if that added content is worth paying full price for it or worth playing through the game again. if its passable then dont worry about it and just get this one.

I'm not sure there is much we can tell you. I've seen rumors but I'm treating them as though they came from somebody whose dad works at Nintendo.

Personally I don't think FeMC is likely whilst Answer is more likely but IDK.

they have no plans to remake the remake i got this from a news atricle "According to the developers of Persona 3 Reload, the upcoming game won't be getting an updated re-release like Persona 5 Royal" however there is a rumour that there may be dlc later on for the answer

That DLC is not worth waiting for. It's the most disliked part of the original "royal" Persona 3.

Wait until a sale. They have some issues to iron out, and content is missing. It's also a game you already played before.

P3FES is one of my all time favorite games, but I regret dropping full price for this.

if you are not 3 hours in you can refund it.

I don't think they'll make another version. There's stuff in the game's files hinting at a DLC of The Answer from P3 FES, and the known Atlus/Sega leaker Midori on twitter also mentioned Atlus' DLC plans for this title are similar to Lost Judgment's style of DLCs.

All of that makes me believe they won't make another version of Reload like P3 Reload FES. I don't think that's happening.

They are probably going to release the FES content as dlc. I'm actually having a blast with this remake and I wasn't a persona fan going into this and just bought a Persona 3 Reload and Persona 4 Golden steam keys last night about 2 hours from launch of P3R. No regrets buying them either.

While I wouldn't be shocked to see a Persona 4 remake, but until then I'll enjoy the pc version of p4g.

Debating it. It DID drop right before I'm about to take a 2.5 week business trip.

Not worth buying, stupidly expensive game you can literally find a better version for free in any ps2 ROM site.
