Menu/UI element running at lower resolution
I think this issue needs some serious attention.

Currently, the menus, UI and many 2D aspect render at a lower resolution. They look very bad running at 1440p/4k. You spend a lot of time looking at these elements and they seriously hurt the quality of the visuals.

PS5 version seems to have all those elements being rendered at the correct resolution.

Not sure if I'm imagining things, but don't you guys think that the transition effect for exiting a menu looks and feels like it's running at a slower frame rate when compared to entering a menu? The effect for entering a menu looks perfectly fine and smooth but exiting one just feels a bit jankier for some reason. Wondering if anyone noticed it besides me.
The menu FPS is locked, so especially when you exit, you feel how sluggish it is and your normal gameplay is locked at the menu FPS for a few seconds. It's really bizarre.

I'm using a mod that unlocks the FPS for the menu. It should be uncapped and running at 120 fps, though. Are you sure?

You don't even have the rectangle in the top left during transitions or going between menus? Did you do something to remove that?
That's a known bug they already have fixed in a recent commit. I didn't consider it an issue as its almost imperceptible unless you are looking in he corner. When you commented that it broke a tonne of UI elements I thought you meant something major.

Try the update. https://github.com/Psiboy11/P3RFix/releases/tag/8
Are people unaware that a fix has been posted? You'd think there'll be more jubilation and excitement from the thread but so far it's been as quiet as a church mouse. Thank you, by the way. This is a solution that fans who play on PC have been searching for since day one, and I appreciate you giving us access to an early build; it works like a charm. Cheers!

Honestly, i tried the fix, but i find the problem to persist, it is the exact same problem as the one in this screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/nI32iaO

Weird! I ain't the mod author so I can only offer suggestions: do you have DPI scaling turned on? Like mentioned earlier, it can sometimes cause problems.

Hm. I'm not quite sure how true "console sales dominate" is anymore. They certainly tend to sell more on average, but nowhere near as much as even just 10 years ago. The gap is closing. That said, your issue with the UI framerate can be solved by installing the mod posted by "Snorlax Is H4x" above. It's very easy to install (just unzip it to the game folder) and it can fix most of these issues.

We're still waiting on a final version with all bugs removed, though.

I honestly don't know how to disable it for a specific piece of software or for the entire system...

Find the game exe (P3R.exe, to get to it: right click game in Steam -> Manage -> Browse local files. Then P3R -> Binaries -> Win64)

Right click it, click properties

Click compatibility

Click "change high DPI settings"

At the bottom, click "override high DPI scaling behavior."

In the dropdown box, select "Application" and hit "OK"

That's the way I know how to override it for individual programs, the other way is if you have it set globally, but I wouldn't mess with the global setting if it's set how you like it.

There's probably an easier way, but that's how I've been doing it. Not a guaranteed fix or anything, but worth a shot.

Nothing, that problem still persists. I tried opening a request on github for Lyall but he closed it as a duplicate of the one talking about models. The problem is still there, probably the fix isn't completely finished

Tried P3RFix and it definitely does wonder for the overall look of the menus.

Unfortunately, it has some quirks and I really can't use it in it's current state. When I first started playing the game at 1440p I had a strange visual bug that happened when exiting menus. The UI (especially noticeable with the button prompts and categories on the main menu) for a brief moment everything would become extremely pixelated. It was very distracting and what fixed this for me was downsampling from 4k. Unfortunately, for whatever reason this behavior returns with this mod even running at 4k.

Still, pretty damn sad that this is the state of things. Atlus has a hit here and they can't even put in the bare minimum to fix their game.

I recommend posting this as an issue on their Github page if you have time. I'm not sure I've seen this specific issue reported. Maybe they're already aware of it, but if not there's no way to fix it if they're not aware. (Unless it's just part of another issue they'll fix.)

The game captures a still frame during certain transitions, this capture is at 1080p. Reducing your resolution doesn't fix this, it just makes everything lower resolution. This is probably fixable in the future though.

This makes sense. I suspect that it's Nvidia's DSR "smoothness" setting that is cleaning it up a bit.

Big release folks! 1.1.2 of the main P3RFix is out.

https://github.com/Lyall/P3RFix/releases

What's Changed

Added option to stop the game pausing when alt+tabbed (see ini to enable).

Added option to scale render texture resolution. This primarily affects menus and persona model previews for example. (#17)

Thanks to @Drahsid for contributing on this, and thank you to @emoose for releasing info about how to accomplish this.

Adjusted intro skip to automatically enable network features and to allow choosing which intro state to skip to. (#19) (#22)

Added option to stop menus from being capped to 60fps. (#2)

Added experimental option to change the framerate cap beyond 120FPS. (#2)

Reworked method for automatically grabbing desktop resolution. This should avoid any DPI scaling related shenanigans. (#17)
