Why is the beach scene considered offensive? (Serious question)

I'm not for censorship and the like but I feel like we aren't actually talking about the main thing here. I'm not American or West European so my worldview might be a bit different to others here but I honestly don't understand why the original beach scene considered so offensive. This is not a troll nor bait, this is a genuine question.

Here's the premise for those unaware:
- a group of horny heterosexual teenagers go to the beach
- they want to score with some girls
- they try to pick up chicks but keep getting rejected
- a girl they find very beautiful actually propositions them
- before any of the guys go through with it, they notice the person is actually a biological male (something the person tried to conceal)
- since none of the guys are into that, they leave

So what about this is so offensive that it needed removal (and that its removal is treated as some kind of victory)?

Was it the fact that the boys rejected the person after finding out? I've seen people argue this. Why would this be offensive? People have a right to not be attracted to whatever they please. It's not like the boys said anything overly mean in the scene.

Was it the fact that the person tried to conceal the fact they were born male? As far as I can see, that seems to be the most common complaint. I don't get it. Are you implying this never happens? I mean yeah, it doesn't portray that person in a particularly good light but why is that offensive? Again, are you saying people like that don't exist? Why should it not be allowed to portray people of a certain group as bad?

I do not understand this Western 'perpetually offended at everything' mentality. Looking objectively, there really is nothing that bad going on in that scene.

Yup somehow I'm supposed to bend over backwards for a person I don't even know calling them certain pronouns and then they get mad when I don't. I'll give out basic decency like anyone should, but making me call you something you haven't even earned just because your world view dictates that you should be nah I don't think so.

I also find it intriguing when they try to pull the Scientific community card as if
A: The cost of contradicting them these days isn't a significant career risk which they pretend there isn't.
B: Basic understanding of theory of evolution states they serve no purpose in the human species cycle of life given that they either cannot mate with their respective "partner" or nuke their reproductive system.

Easy answer. This would create an uproar and they don't want that kind of heat. So they played it safe and removed it. A lot of people will complain, but in the end that is the path they choose.

Just read the discussion here and you can imagine this level of discussion but on a lot of sites like, IGN, Kotaku, Rock Paper Shotgun... Not saying I agree with their decision, but I can understand.

You have the right idea but for the wrong reasons.
The reason why more often than not they'll feed into the left is simply they are typically more unhinged, and tend to then get away with it in America. They are also typically louder even being a minority.
On the flip side though people who hate the inclusion of trans people are also a minority. Don't get it twisted there isn't some massive group of trans haters they like the ones mentioned above are also a minority typically a minority no one likes.

The real majority is not giving a ♥♥♥♥. MOST people do not care about trans people and I don't mean that as in don't care about them as people, but as "there's a trans person, okay" and they keep it moving. The majority of trans people are inoffensive.
So since one side is more aggressive and most people don't care, hell even people who do dislike it are likely to still buy the game because they'd rather still enjoy the rest of the game.

In this case it's about jokes about trans people. The same applies. Fringe left minority aggressively against. Fringe right minority happy trans are being "put in there place". Actual majority some find it funny maybe having a similar experience, or the like situational humor but wouldn't care if it was gone. The rest are neutral towards it. So removing it would be of little to no consequence.

What do you mean by 'earn' here? Are you saying there's a condition under which you would use preferred pronouns? You didn't earn your birth name, so why shouldn't I call you Joseph?
