It's the same game. You could just play earlier since it's time zone based there vs unlock at a certain time on steam.
Also the savfiles of gamepass are in a Container Format that needs to be unpacked and comverted
I don't think that he will do it. Look at the Incompatible games, there are the same as p3r datafiles
It's most likely not the same game. The preload for gamepass started 5 months ago while Steam just had it this week
When you preload a game, you download all of the data of the game but encrypted. You can see it as, when you preload a game then launch it when released, the game will start by decrypting all of the game, which can take some times.
You could be right as the gamepass version and the steam version use different save file techniques (not the same game), but the preload beginning 5 months ago doesn't really mean anything. I could be wrong, if you know more on this matter please let me know.
Anyway, I've tried the tool mentioned earlier (XGP-Save-Extractor) and modified it's .json to add the Persona 3 Reload game, and tested some conversion method (1c1f, 1cnf-folder). If anyone would like to please send a screenshot of their savefiles folder, to compare with the one created from the tool, it would be cool.

SaveData from steam
According to xvox save file conver the container formaat is like this for tactiva:
100/100/Savedata.dat
100/100/Savedatainfo.dat
meanwhile for P3R its
SaveData00x/SaveData00x/data
if extracted it seems to extract to much when in turn it needs to stop at one of the prior container
Seems like its just a matter of time till its possible because it works for P5 and P4.

Also if anyone gets it to work, we still won't get the achievements. Gotta use SAM to unlock em or do it the legit way.
