A should be Confirm
B should be Cancel
As it stands right now, Nintendo controller users have to either
- Set the UI scheme to Xbox, which leads to UI mismatches when the all button faces are shown on screen such as in battle
- Change the layout in Steam itself, which leads to a total UI mismatch (B still saying confirm)
- Change the button mappings in the game, which again leads to a total UI mismatch, and can't be done to every input.
While I appreciate supporting Nintendo controllers innately (as I'm sure others who use them will agree to), you can't just have it swap the UI layout and nothing else. Proper support also means remapping the controls so that things like A = Confirm are still true.
We hit the right button to confirm in Nintendo games. Not the bottom one. We're not savages

I'm paying the same amount as the packaged version.
exactly, specially after playing 3, 4, 5, strikers and tactica on a switch where every single game there uses A (right button) as confirm and B (bottom button) as cancel.
I can deal with remapping either in steam or in game, and with the big prompts where the YES option is lower an to the left to the NO option, but what is driving me crazy is after selecting a skill then a target with A and the games always expects the lower button to confirm to use the skill, makes me think it was an oversight.
in my opinion, it'd be way better if we could use the same button to make the selection based on their position.
like X (top button) to bring up the skill menu, then pressing X again to select the skill then finally X again to select the target.
*edit*
I've just found that I can force it manually in config, but it is still kinda buggy.
For example, I manually set the audio device in config on the title screen to force the game to output to headphones.
But then when I load my save file, the game switches the audio device back to monitor when loading the file, so I have to go into config AGAIN and switch it back to headphones.
Kinda odd.
just wanna know is it a bug or what? I'm facing the same problem too, tks ><

An easy way to see this is to simply open the menu and look at a 3D persona model.
It has been reported by many people in this thread and also the one below.
