Yes, it has shader compilation stutter...
Unreal Engine + DX12 making it up... again.
Playing Game Pass versión.
For those who will play it on Steam, some suggestions:
1. Try to add a launch parameter of DX11 and try DXVK Async mod.
2. Wait till they patch it (if any...)
3. Don't buy it unless you play on Steam Deck.

PC version doesn't have AA options nor Motion blur, but the last one can be disable with a cvar in the engine.ini file.
Also tested on XSX. Runs great there, but motion blur is a pain in the ass.
Otherwise, the game seems to be a very polished remake in the other areas.

Already warned!

Just made a thread stating exactly this. Shader comp stutter strikes again. I doubt Atlus will do anything to fix it.
I still have some hope because Like a Dragon Ishin released that way and the shader compilation was fixed. It took like a month, but they actually did it.
It would be such a bummer if they don't do it.
On consoles, the motion blur cannot be disabled (on PC you have mods or .in tweaks) and the addition of RT reflections causes fps drops in the mall.
So, no even the console version is free from bad decisions or issues

i was wondering why my fps in the mall was being halved, seems like ill be leaving reflections off for the time being.

Yes, that's the reason.
I mean, it's cool to have options, but hey, disclose them properly and, in the case of consoles, just add a fkn toggle do people can decide how to play the game.

-I would LOVE to turn off motion blur and RT reflections on consoles, where Shader Compilation is not present, but I can't.

-I LOVE to be able to turn off motion blur and RT reflections on PC, but shader compilation is present.

Why life has to be like this? 🥲

Sorry for my ignorance on this matter, but I switched to DX11 and it solved a lot of the stuttering. However, I'm worried that switching from DX12 to DX11 will break something. Is that something I need to be worried about? Again sorry I know nothing about how Direct X works.

It shouldn't. Maybe just RT reflections.
I cannot do that dx11 trick cause I am playing right now on Game pass. I was gonna buy the game on Steam but now I won't until the actually fix it
could anyone confirm that -dx11 launch parameter actually affects anything in steam? i know it doesnt work on gamepass which is the version im playing, i'd just like to know
no stutter on my end but im playing on SSD

I have 0 Stutter on my SSD no idea where youre getting the stutter my frametime graph with RTSS has been flat all playthrough
As for The AA settings Thats actually EXTREMELY common with UE4/5 games to just force TAA and your only option is just TAA samples as someone who has played a lot of UE games i have always had to edit the engine ini to the point that i literally have this Copy pasted into a txt on my desktop because 99% of UE games force all this garbage.
r.MaxAnisotropy=16
r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0
r.MotionBlur.Max=0
r.DefaultFeature.MotionBlur=0
r.MotionBlurQuality=0
r.SceneColorFringeQuality=0
r.Tonemapper.GrainQuantization=0
r.Tonemapper.Quality=0
r.FilmGrain=0

With the occasional r.LensFlareQuality=0 and r.bloomquality=0 and r.DefaultFeature.AntiAliasing=0
r.PostProcessAAQuality=0 depending on the game, Ive turned AA off in this game and the jaggies look really out of place even at 4K

This game with no AA is awful however Defaultfeature AA seems to only do FXAA or TAA on later UE4 builds so i think you have to do r.AntiAliasingMethod=3 for the superior MSAA but you can make TAA look pretty decent with just
r.TemporalAA.Upscaler=1
r.TemporalAA.AllowDownsampling=0
r.TemporalAACurrentFrameWeight=1
r.TemporalAAFilterSize=0.8
r.TemporalAAUpsampleFitered=1
r.TemporalAASamples=16
r.TemporalAA.Upsampling=1
r.TemporalAAPauseCorrect=1

Also if people are playing 1080p i recommend 150 screen render to make it smoother and less blurry.

honestly the biggest offense this game has is the fact borderless window alt tab pauses the game completely which is the most baffling thing when companies do that ♥♥♥♥.

thats because you didnt switch to DX11
the game still renders DX12 when i did the -dx11 command.
https://i.imgur.com/q9l7MTb.png it doesnt work like people assume it does
but swapping rending methods wont break anything anyway. this game just doesnt do DX11 at all.

Shader compilation stutter is there.
Update your drivers or reinstall them.
Go into Tartarus and play a battle. Use RTSS frametime graph. You will tell how everything you do for the first time in terms of effects in battle will stutter the first time.

flat line graph for me still and i DDU'd, Reinstalled and Cleared the D3Cahce folder and disabled Shader cache in Nvidia panel, i dunno man NVME Skill issue or something.

I tried the PC Gamepass version and it looked like it had screen tearing.
Is it the same here ?

My GP sub will end at the end of the month so I may be finishing the game on XSX or buy it here... so we'll see. Unless the Steam version runs badly.
Wish the devs would comment on this issue..
Is anyone else having stutters during those non-anime cutscenes? Like the one on the monorail I had some stutters during it. I assume this relates to the shader compilation stuttering

No, it doesn't seem to work on the Steam version either.

I created a shortcut to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\P3R\P3R\Binaries\Win64\P3R.exe with the -dx11 parameter passed through in the shortcut's Target field after the folder path, and the game still renders the graphics using DX12, says RTSS.
What a disappointment. Can't the developers take a hint from games like Lies of P?
