You think 89 us a bad score? There were several reviewers just docking off points for "not being a complete remake", despite never being advertised as such and not really being true. Game easily deserves a 90+, but at the end of the day those reviews don't matter that much

not surprised, all persona games take a little to get going. most people with short attention spans quit early and make an opinion based on that.

P3 reload was made for the fans, not the masses.

DMC 5 got an 89 and that game is amazing. We'll be fine

I have severe adhd. I had no idea what P5 was, went in blind and got sucked right in. Superb story telling I didn't feel bored one bit.

comparing it to 5 would give it a lower score, Its the first "modern" persona game, its not going to be Persona 6. it should have been persona 6 if i see another ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ persona 5 game il lose my ♥♥♥♥

89 seems fair. While loved by its fanbase Persona is fundamentally still a Niche Market title, much like Armored Core, and that will tend to get reflected in the Composite Critic Score.

I expect the elements of FES that aren't present will arrive as DLC.

High 80s Composite Critic Score tends to be tend be normal for Solid Niche Market titles, associated with those realities that make them Niche Market. In order for a game to get a Composite Critic Score over 90 it tends to need to be something that has Mass Market Appeal.

Is a _very_ solid game in all aspects, but it's not for everyone which is reflected in it's Composite Critic Score being 86. Persona 3 Reload sitting at 89 is doing just fine by the standards of how this stuff works.

I think it's good enough, P3 always had it's fair share of laws and Tartarus, despite being a bit better now, still shows it's age. Also, if the leak about The Answer ends up being true i'd give P3R an even lower score just for deliberately leaving out content to sell it to us later. If you are charging people $70 for a remake i expect to have the complete game.

I never know what to make of what a critic thinks lol.

rather than looking at the review score, i rather read or listen to the reviews itself since the score can be rather subjective. if there is something that the reviewer don't like but you can live with it then the score is pretty much meaningless to you

Definitely not bad! Objectively anything past an 85 on Metacritic is pretty universally loved.

Heck my favourite game of all time Xenoblade Chronicles 3 also has a 89 on Metacritic.
