Will this game be shorter than P5R?

But P5R complaint aside, yes, this won't have Persona 3 FES's "The Answer", but Persona 3 is plenty long.

You're looking at a solid 80+ hours.

Persona 3 is much shorter than Persona 5 Royal if you are NOT doing a 100% run.

It most definitely will be. A P3 run without including The Answer is like 80h vs P5's 100h+, and with Royal you get at least 20h more. However, P3 Reload will add quite a bit of content like Link Events, more night activities, and who knows what else. Maybe they'll even expand a little bit of Strega's story.

Yes base P3 is very short compared to P5 base already, much less stuff to do and with a slower beginning.

Yes you can but it will require a strict schedule of doing certain things on certain days because you need to get your social stats to certain levels for certain Social Links. Such as Mitsuru will need max Academics for example.
Well with P3 FES you can do 100% Social Link run in about 120hrs on average while Persona 5 Royal it will take you around 142hrs. However with P3RE with the extra scenes etc it will be longer than 120hrs if you go the 100% route.

With all the new content the journey will most likely be the longest compared to past versions of p3, altho we obviously can't know yet by how much, but you're still looking at a 70+ hour experience if you don't rush through it.

Also it will obviously not be as long as p5r as it is literally impossible for p3 to have a third semester due to story related events

At this point is hard to say. Originally Persona 3 is shorter then 4 and 5(especially Royal) but we also know they have added quite a bit of content. I think it will still wind up being shorter probably not significantly so. Plus Persona 3 Fes the journey was already 80 hours, quite a timesink anyway....

Also to answer your question the DLC, which it was not it was an epilogue part of an expanded edition since in 2008 the idea of DLC was not widespread, is not a part of portable either. As it stands unless it gets released the separately the Answer will disappear into irrelevance like it deserves too. The people crying about its exclusion are overwhelmingly people who never played it and are just repeating what their favorite internet personality says because they are too dumb too form their own opinions or emulate and discover it is crap.

I've enjoyed the answer, not as much as main game, but it was still good. If you enjoy dungeon crawlers or SMT, then Answer will bring you enjoyment. Not much of story, lot of battles, no compendium, good challenge.

Gonna be honest, 120 hours for FES 100% is not accurate. I would say around 15 hours more due to the secret boss being NG+ only, the preparations for that, and the answer being in the equation.

Yeah true. According to the Completionist tab on how long to complete they say 136hrs. I wasn't counting the Secret boss nor the answer here just the Journey and all of the Social Links.
