They set this price because they can.
Months ago they were happy to pay 20 for a broken port of a PSP game and argued that it was the ultimate best version.
If Atlus re-released FES instead, they would tell the contrary.
What's not worth it? The Premium Edition or just the game in general? Your post is a bit all over the place. And how do you not get the "full release"?
For an extra US$30 the 'Premium Edition' adds 3 costume packs, 3 Persona packs, a Persona 5 Royal BGM set, a 64 page digital artbook, and a 60 track digital soundtrack.
That doesn't sound too bad for fans (especially Persona 5 fans) who're looking to get more out of their 'Persona 3 Reload' experience.
The base game (which is all you need) is a re-imagining that is completely remade with cutting edge graphics for US$69.99. You can also find Steam keys that are cheaper from SEGA approved digital partners.
Is the game too expensive? That's something each individual will need to decide. Steam keys have it priced better, there's the Game Pass option also, and of course you can just wait for a sale.
It's the infamous Steam Forums "Your post is a bit all over the place" meme. And then, it's followed up by a post that is unironically all over the place. This dude even pulled out the big guns with the buzz words like he's on Atlus' payroll. "Cutting Edge Graphics" and "Reimagining" are words I wouldn't use in this case.
Actually, a "reimagining" wouldn't be the goal here. The goal, if I were to guess, would be to capitalize on the people who played Persona 5 as their first Persona game by remaking P3 and then selling as many P5 spinoffs as possible to maximize profits.
And hey, this guy is happily going to support it, meaning they get to play P5 for the next 20 years. They'll probably even buy the reimagined reimagining of P3 and P5 and proudly boast about it every time they get to talk about it.
People really seem to forget what kinda industry the consumer market is. Make a product people want, reinvest the profit into something else. Atlus/SEGA def aren’t saints, but they aren’t a ubisoft or activision either. At least they deliver quality instead of the recent triple A disasters we’ve seen. Whether the price is worth it is for each individual to decide, no one is bound by the asking price either
Also I guess we’ll just have to take your word for it that this (despite it quite literally being true) is “not a reimagining” of persona 3. Altho there MIGHT just be a reason it’s called “Reload” and not just “Remake”
