a bit strange... Galleon is bigger than Ship of Line?
So I switched all my ships from 5 Galleons to 5 Ship of Lines.
And I set it up the exact same way, be able to travel 9 days.
And i set up where I put in max Cargo space modified.

somehow 5 Galleons had 100 cargo you buy from trading post + 9 days traveling.
but Ship of Line.. has less than 100, i think about 98 + 9 day traveling...

What am I missing here?

Since you mentioned in the other topic, I don't think I need to answer that xD

Now I want some glitch free cargo space on my ship of lines too Lol

I agree. I now use a Ship of Line as command ship and support ship but Galleons are used as cargo ships as they have the same warehouse capacity, only 1 knt of lesser speed and require a lot fewer crewmen. This is something incoherent. I think we should not have limits in gunroom and warehouse roms.

They probably put that limit in because they knew damn well none of the others are useful on non-flagships x'D

Well the obvious answer would be that the Ship-of-the-Line isn't designed for cargo?
Galleons are historical all rounders. So yes, a Galleon would have more cargohold and require less crew than a ship of the line even if it would get decimated easily by one.

The storage space bug, no clue what the cause is atm
Antiga Jan 15, 2023 @ 9:48pm
Storage space bug, in my experience, is 100% related to having ships docked.

Undock all ships to fix it. Keep them undocked (Sell if needed) to make the problem not appear again. As soon as you dock a ship, after going to the next port or so, the cargo space will get bugged again, and you will have more than you should.

I would agree with Antiga, but I've had the bug occur on a ship while sailiing it from port to port, but I do agree that it occurs far more often if you dock the ships (As someone who runs a Combat, Merchant, and Exploration fleet.... ouch)

Are you absolutely sure you don't have any ships docked anywhere? As I kinda hope docking is the only trigger for this bug.

Wait, I get what your meaning, if you have ANY ships docked it causes it... I did have ships docked I assumed just using a single ship and having some docked couldn't cause it, but could that actually be it? Guess I could do a playthrough without docking any ships but that would be so tedious, but it could also explain why so few people have had the bug.

Could it be as simple as the storage bonuses of the other ships are being added to your ship while they're docked? Wish I had looked into how many warehouses I had in total...
Antiga Jan 15, 2023 @ 10:56pm
Well when I was experimenting with this, having some ships docked and modifying ships in my fleet to have more or less warehouses, all that would happen is that I would get more and more cargo space. So there seems to be a combination of things going on there, with part of it being you getting extra storage space from docked ships, and another part being that modifying fleet ships somehow affects docked ships to give even more invisible cargo spaces.
In short, it doesn't seem like a very simple glitch.

But you don't need to start a new playthrough. Just go to ports with docked ships and get rid of em. I know this is going to completely mess with your playstyle so perhaps not worth it, but you can likely get a good all-round fleet going eventually.
