Exploration rewards

Just finished my first campaign, what would you guys say is the best investment in exploration rewards? I have 3400 points.

I would say the Nautical Chart (never have to buy another chart, though you do need to visit the ports first to auto-sail to/past there), the Ship Deed (start any new game with a free galleon along with your normal starter ship... I think the crew comes free, too?), and the cash (200k gold is really handy at the start of the game, plenty of leeway).

That should come out to 3250.

When you can afford it later, get the Map, then the Navigator's Ring (+1 to all skills is pretty convenient), and the Xp.

After that, get whatever. There's more points possible than things to buy with 'em.
On top of which, what exactly the Business Scale, Maintenance Tool, and Moveable Type Cube even do is not that clear.

Though I think the Maintenance Tool causes exploration tools to break ~90% less often, though it does still happen on occasion.
