please teach me about sails and ship speed

there is 2 types of sail speed square and luff do i have to balance them or only focus on one of them?

i dont even understand what square speed and luff speed mean can you explain?

Luff is for ships speed when sailing with the wind. Square is for the ships speed when sailing upwind. Balancing is not really possible since when you increase one you decrease the other.

only the main flagship effect speed? or other ships in fleet also effect speed?

and does this mean when i buy a ship i see which stats is higher between square and luff and i choose the higher one to boost up?

The fleet speed is based on the flahship. And there is no real point in boosting anything, it either you sail faster upwind but slower downwind, or the other way around. In the first place "when i buy a ship"? Why would you buy it over building it.

at the start of the game i have no choice but to buy coz i dont have high ship building skill + ship building Equipment and materials etc, but then later i can build yeah its better to build

One of the ways people make lots of money in game is to have a really fast flag ship for trading, the Cutty Shark is what people want with a base speed of 17. It's a rare version of the clipper ship. They then load up on rare treasure ships with a base cargo of 40 and they go buy out ports for selling elsewhere.

First, you'll head to SAN Juan to pick up your assignment at the Commerce Guild. This mission can be done easily with a tea boat, but you are better off sailing manually, as automatic sailing don't go in a straight line. You could get the blueprints when you're done
Then just collect materials，bulid it.
When the shipbuilding time is 70 days, you will randomly get Cutty Sark or Ariel Clipper，Cutty Sark is better.

i got the clipper blue print i tried to build it in havena and in kolkuta but i never see 70 days

in havena i only see 50 days and in kolkuta i only see 55 days

where did you build your cutty shark which city?

Try in veracruz. It might take 30 tries of canceling and redoing it but you should get it by then using in that city. I didn't even have a guild in it when i did it so that shouldn't be a problem.

I see 70 days in Hangzhou and Plymouth(The probability of this is related to attributes of the city)
