Where to find ship blue prints?
Is there any place to find/buy specific ship blueprints? I'm getting tired of waiting month after month for the ship I want to become available to buy.

Ship blueprints are rewarded by commerce guild in some ports like: Seville and London. The commercial quest needs you to bring special quality stuff. To get special quality stuff (purple star) you need to build a Studio room on your main ship (in your fleet) and put there a char with good selection skill. This skill make every good in your ship to have a % chance to transform into purple star everyday you are navigating through the map. You need to buy a card in Lisbon to permit you to modify yours ships room in the shipward. You can modify your other ships to have more wharehouse and guns rooms (no need others types of rooms, because you cannot put chars on it). The studion room blueprint is a reward when you discover 50 types of goods around the world. This is a life change in money when you know how to use.

London Oak x10 Tech Book: Galleon
Stockholm Diamond x1 Tech Book: Carrack
Muscat Damascus Knife x1 Tech Book: Arab Galley
Gia Dinh Teak x10 Tech Book: Guangchuan
Veracruz Ship Spike x10 Tech Book: Brig
San Juan Quest: 35 Day Run Tech Book: Clipper
Havana Velvet x1 Tech Book: Schooner

There are a couple others that I forgot to document as I was going through my first playthrough, such as Large Galleon (Seville) and Ship of the Line (Plymouth) and two of the smaller Asian ships. There's also the Large ship in Asia that I haven't gotten yet.

These are picked up at the Trading Guilds. Note that all of these goods are required to be premium. (purple star) You can take the commissions whenever you want, there is no time limit to them. Out of these ships, Ship of the Line is probably the best overall, but Clippers can provide you more speed, especially if you are able to generate a rare version via the shipbuilding. Note that it will require a lot of materials from the Shipyard Stores spread over several ports.

Alternatively, you can buy the General versions of the Keel/Mast/Canvas/Penal items and see if you'll get a desired ship that way. I haven't done a ton of experimenting with these, but I can't recall a time where I got the best version of a ship that a port is capable of selling, such as a Ship of the Line. People have said you can get rare ships this way, but I think there may be conditions to where you have to build at very specific ports.

Ship of the Line in Plimouth is for Japanese guy story, no? Can't find it on Andrew.

You can tech up Seville or Plymouth with a guild and be able to buy ships of the line.

It's definitely something you can get with Andrew, there's a topic called 'First-rate ship in-game?" where a player using Andrew got it.

Hm. Surprising. Playing as Japanese shipbuilder, I've got the quest the moment I first sailed into Plimouth. Playing now, I have built up whole guild in Plimouth and have no quest for pirates pop up.

I think you need a large style ship before it'll pop. are you sailing in a medium ship?
