New computer doesn't run MotoGP 08 :(

I've got an i7 4770K, 32GB of RAM and internal HD4600 graphics. According to game-debate.com the HD4000 graphics are more than enough to play the game. HD4600 is much better so this should work in my opinion. Just nothing happens when I launch the game, not even an error message.
I've verified my local content, no problems there.

Does anybody know how to make this game work? Any tips at all?

Are you using the Steam version of the game?

The Steam version of game (sadly no longer in Steam Store) always crashed on first launch attempt during intro film or when selecting game options. Relaunching the game was successful. Rebooting machine would mean having to launch twice again though so the crash was/is expected behaviour...

Did you move game library to new machine or download game through steam client?

Did you install or move Steam Client?

Seeing you have 485 hrs for MotoGP 08 you have probably moved game files.

Have you verified game cache on your new machine?

Hi, sorry for the late reply, I didn't get an email that I had a new message...
I have installed the game on a new computer by selecting the game from my library, if that's what you mean by moving the game?
I did verify the game cache and I did try to refresh the game cache.
I've tried to launch the game multiple times to no avail... it just won't work

Searching Capcom support pages do not shed light on the Launcher.exe issue/s i refer to.

Running on AMD hardware the game runs but crashes first time round. Simply restarting game after it crashes should be all that is needed to get it to run.

Hi,
I've removed MotoGP 08 completely and I'm reinstalling it now. I'll let you know in a moment how I'm getting on with it. I will do all the checks as you suggested and try if it works by just restarting the game if it works.
If you don't get a reply from me later today, consider this problem resolved (or that I can live with the annoyances of having to restart after crashes).
In the meantime, there's no AMD hardware in my computer, only Intel. Here's a list generated from my steam client:

Yup, same problem...
I see in my task manager that Launcher.exe actually starts up, but then it disappears. It starts using about 20MB and then it stops. I can try it over and over again to no avail.
My local game cache has been successfully verified.

Am unsure as to why MotoGP 08 no longer appears on Store pages and can see this is one of your favourite games.

Have you tried opening a support ticket with Valve?

As another suggestion/recommendadtion - Did you know it is possible to use external sites for posting log files etc?
one example is http://pastebin.com/ which allows easy posting of information leaving your thread in an easy too read format but still containing the same information. ;-)

MotoGP 08 was infamous for its broken multiplayer. After recently taking advantage of winter sale i invested in MotoGP 13 which has taken time to win me over ( found 08 to be more realistic) and after tweaking settings to Hard or Realistic am now having more fun with MotoGP 13 and still have not ventured to online multiplayer - which i am sure is where the real fun is to be had... :-)

I opened a support ticket with the developers of MotoGP08.
They were very helpful, but the ticket remains unsolved. It doesn't look like i'll be able to run the game unless I install a dedicated GPU.
The Intel HD4600 reports only a little less than 256MB of base memory to the game (even though there's almost 2GB shared available). That is the main issue why i cannot get it to work.

It will soon be holiday time. Keep an eye open for motogp 13 in the steam sales. ;-)
MotoGP 08 is good even today but once you have changed the default settings in MotoGP 13 you will love it.

If irl MotoGP 08 has been available since 2008 that would mean windows xp, windows 7, windows 8, windows 8.1 and windows 10 all being able to run MotoGP 08 is testimony of how much of a legendary game MotoGP 08 is.

MotoGP 08 runs fine for me today on windows 10.

Could be that it's not dealing well with the new hardware I suppose. I'm running an AMD R9 290...
I don't see why a game of 2008 should be running on Win 8 and 10 though. There are major differences between those versions and Win 7/Vista. There are other games running on 7 that will not run on 8 or 10, even in compatibility mode or whatever those systems provide for backwards compatibility.
