I loved this game so much that I own it on xbox 360, sony playstation 3, and it was on sale for pc so i said what the hell so i got it for this also and ive never been more disappointed in a game company now because of this... its really sad! I want a refund and something special for all the pain and pissed hours troubleshooting this endless issue. I think they should give us a free copy of the next game because of this! Assumed that the next one doesnt have issues like this ... lol
When I posted a complaint to steam I got an automatic answer to flush the steam's config cache, restart and open the steam client by executing the actual executable in teh Steam folder.
The instruction for it is here:
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3134-TIAL-4638
Then I select the ageofbooty executable's property page and set it to "Windows XP service pack 3" compatible mode.
Now it seems to work fine :)
It always crashes when I use my headset. Try using a normal stereo headset (Windows has to recognize it as stereo it doesn`t help to simply turn your surround off).
