A Few Things......
First let me say. I am absolutely having a blast with this game. It's charming and above all else, fun!

Now, I do have a few gripes (yes I know it's early access I am in no means trying to drag the game or the dev).

1. The screen doing this weird flicker. - Without a better word for it, periodically when I turn my mouse it's like it's jittering / flickering. It doesn't happen all the time but I'd say about every 15 minutes or so. I've tried everything, lowering graphics, going from full screen to windowed, turning graphics all the way up. It just continues to happen. Drivers and updates are all current.

2. That robot is a bit annoying. Constantly in your face and even blocking asteroids sometimes. Maybe just have him stay at the players back permanently unless using a scan.

3. Crashes. Oh boy are there a lot of them. On re-spawn, crash. Launching from the simple launch pad about halfway through the trip, crash (tested this several times on several different locations).

4. The long range scanner. Does it need to be so big? I mean the sucker is 4 walls tall, possibly 5. I'd have to go back and count again to be sure, but man that thing is HUGE. Also would be nice if it specified if it needs to be built indoors or out. Some more instruction about the scanner would also be great. I ran a couple of scans and it showed the icon for a few seconds then went away. Maybe I'm missing something here. Possibly add a codex or something to the game for us to reference for things like this?

5. Power. I don't know if this gets better in later game stages, but good lord. Constantly having to craft batteries is a C H O R E. I don't mind a bit of a grind but man. 4 batteries per charge and the charge not going very far. I would know a bit more but the crashing has kept me from advancing very far.

I like a good challenge in my survival / crafting games. I love space themes. This game is right up my alley. As I stated earlier this is not meant to attack the dev or the game, just putting my thoughts on the state of the game. As a major supporter of indie games I would be doing the game and dev a disservice if I didn't.

Oh and I almost forgot. The fact that this has multiplayer?!?! In a time where a lot of games like this are single player only. Major kudos dev. Absolute GREAT choice.

Thanks for playing and taking the time to share your thoughts! I really appreciate it.

1) I've not seen this before. We're going to be upgrading the base Godot engine in the next community update so I'm hoping this will improve. If it doesn't, please let me know.

2) Robot behavior is also on my list - but it may be in the content update early next year (with some exciting upgrades for him as well!)

3) This is a bummer. I managed to improve performance with the latest update but I think at the cost of stability, albeit nothing I've been able to reproduce. I'm looking into it and hope to have updates here soon.

4) The scanner size is definitely intentional but you're right - it's not well introduced and I think I need to share the types of builds I'm envisioning with it more. The codex is a great idea - I've been looking into adding a waypoint manager which I think aligns pretty closely. Most scans from it will add a permanent waypoint but only with one of the data cards you may find from a shipwreck or while exploring. Again not very well explained - or maybe not at the right time. I need to continue to iterate here.

5) Next content update will include a ship reactor which lets power become much more convenient, albeit long trips will still require some planning. Also play with only using the tractor beam in short spurts to keep up speed.

I'll try to circle back here as I address some of the feedback in game but either way - know I'm thinking about all of this as well and will try and nail down the crashes.

Thanks!

See now this is how ya do it folks. It's a lot of work putting a game together. Especially one with a scope such as this. Good on ya dev. Definitely going to keep playing and I'll be moving to the beta branch to give your improvements a look.

The crashes could be machine specific as well. It's not always the game itself. Which is what some people don't realize. But it does help to let developers know of crash instances.

Being in support myself does give me a bit more patience than others though. XD

Won't deter me either way. I'm determined to get my little dude bouncing around the stars!
