alma military base... stealth?
I see there is some option to do this area with stealth, sneak in and talk to the general and sergeant to stop them from pushing the "destroy everything" button.

but... how? I've done this at night, with mercs with expert stealth, and still cannot make it into the building without getting mobbed immediately.

what is the accepted strategy for doing this stealthily? what direction to approach the area from (NSEW)? how to get near the building without the snipers spotting you?

Are you talking about classic or Wildfire version?

ah, sorry, classic.

I hear there is a basement connection between the prison and the military base. I'll try taking the prison first instead.

Nope, there is no underground tunnel between H13 and I13 in Classic. But in Wildfire there is one :)

Well, I remember it wasn't easy but it wasn't impossible too. Start from the SW entrance, keep mercs in the dark and don't forget the roof.
If you are spotted the soldiers script makes them to rush to the button despite the open fire. You may use it if you see the tile near the button.

yeah, i think the problem is expert mode the enemies on the roof have near perfect vision.

but i finally did it after 8 tries :P, used a stealthy martial artist with an energy boost to jump up on the roof and take him down before he even knew I was there, then took that guy and a backup with a caws around the western side of the building to the main entrance, then set up the guy with the CAWS to watch the switch while stealth boy went off to talk to sergeant. after that was done, I set up all the rest of my guys on the roof overlooking the middle courtyard, then just had them make a ton of racket and the turkey shoot commenced. even got to talk to the general before blowing his head off with the CAWS.

lol, it took me 20 years to finally get this done right. I can't remember, but I don't think there is anything important in the prison? just the training facility, right?

Good job!

This sector is one of three prisons in Arulco. If you surrender during the fight your mercs will be here.

Nothing else.
