check your skills for what damage your skills use.. should be physical or psi or maybe both
hope that helps
basically means using unordinary abilities like magic. The game really won't call it "magic power" so they have their own uniqueness into it.
Some characters are capable of having Physical Power, PSI Power or both. As mentioned by someone above, you need to know if your character has the right equipment or else it won't do anything.
There's also a Physical Defense and PSI Defense. Don't mistook them to be the same as Physical Power and PSI Power. Physical Defense as the name emplies counters Physical Power and same goes with PSI.
This can go for enemy attacks, too. If you don't know whether an attack is physical or psi, look at the damage number when you get hit by it. If they're red, you just got hit with a physical damage attack. It's a psi power attack if they're blue.
Also, as a general rule-of-thumb, here's what each character uses:
Seha - Entirely Physical (even his explosion attacks)
Sylvi - Entirely Psi (even knife/telekinesis attacks)
Misteltain - Entirely Psi (even the lance skills)
J - Entirely Physical (even Biomagnetism)
Yuri - Hybrid Physical/Psi (check her individual skill descriptions for specifics)
Levia - Entirely Psi
Nata - Entirely Physical (even his projectile/energy attacks)
As far as I'm aware, there's no point in having any Psi Power modules on a character whose skills are entirely Physical, and vice versa is true in regards to Physical Power modules on a character that runs entirely on Psi Power. For example, J gains no benefit from equipping Regulator modules, and Sylvi cannot benefit from equipping Booster modules. Despite this, all characters should equip both physical and psi defense trinkets.
As an additional note, Seha's explosion attacks are based on Physical Power for determining how much damage they do, but they ignore all forms of Defense on the enemy since they inflict True Damage. If you use his Phase Blade skill, all of his attacks inflict True Damage. To the best of my knowledge, he's the only character that has access to this property.
So I pay as Yuri. She has a gun and blade etc. Doesn't use a lot of 'magic' it seems. So Psi should be a little less important to me? Not UNimportant. Just a little less?
