This game is so dead

I installed the game after not playing for a while. I wanted to do some casual matches , i get matched with the same person 5 times in a row , a level 900+ playing abusing an OP character in unranked mode. This game is such a joke.

It's will go down eventually, all fighting games does, it's just a matter of time how long each game will last/new FG come out.
So please elaborate my question or perhaps it's too much for you?

Not for Brawlhalla, had more lifespan than any fighting game even againts big three (MK not included)... both have simpler controls and are free-to-play (yes you need to pay in Brawlhalla aswell, for full roster). You can’t say they’re in different categories because you guys already mentioned Tekken, so that game is included.

Speaking of Tekken 7, it now has more players than GBVR. They should just make Rising 90% off. If they had simply updated the original instead of jumping into a new separate game forced everybody to pay again, this wouldn’t have happened...

Excellent points. If even Tekken 7 averages more players than GBVSR, you know the handful of copers here claiming the game isn't dead are just in denial. And yes, if they put GBVSR at a perma 80-90% discount, it would be the only redeeming move to restore some semblance of life back into it. As it stands, a game this dead has no business being 50 bucks +extra for DLC.

Have I not explained this about a hundred times by now? I've been interested in this game since it released. I initially hoped Sandalphon would be Season 1 DLC so I waited until his announcement to buy, but it soon became clear that Cygames was going to hold him for Season 2. So, I've been boycotting this game up until Sandalphon's announcement in late 2024. Unfortunately, it seems it's too little too late for me to get the game now, as it is practically dead at 425 players and still super overpriced with 1 week left for Season 2.

Real shame, but I can't say Cygames didn't bring it on themselves.

you now have your sandy dolphin, there will be a player spike soon even before he releases and if you were interested since release you would have played at least the free version no?
i mean i know the game sucks at the moment but i am clocking in at almost 2k hours since release which is way more genuine interest than you're showing right now lol

Funny thing is, I did buy the game at one point back when Lucilius came out, because he was the only character besides Sandalphon who interested me, but it turned out they made him really weak, so I refunded and decided to boycott this game. I recently found out they buffed Lucilius in the September 2024 patch and he's actually good now, but the game was already dead by that point.

Free version doesn't interest me, as I said the only two characters who interest me are Sandalphon and Lucilius and they're both DLC characters, meaning the free version doesn't get them. Even then, the free version only lets you play on a weekly rotation of characters, so absolutely no point in me touching it. It's no wonder there are less than 50 players using the free version lol.

Like I've said many times, I'm perfectly willing to buy this game if it goes on an 80% sale or higher, since I've been waiting for Sandalphon to release for a year. But at this price and the player numbers being what they are, Cygames are crazy to expect anyone to pay 50 bucks + extra for DLC.

yes the player is declining,
but if you have a problem with casual match.. just play ranked mode.. the casual mode doesn't have good matchmaking system so it will not be a casual match.. you either got easy opponent or really hard opponent. but most of the times it will be hard opponent.

ranked mode started to get a bit hard from S+ since you will meet master and grandmaster player occasionally, this is where a lot of people start to avoiding ranked mode.
cause they either got scared losing LP or they want to play against easier opponent.
that's why you meet a lot of OP enemy in casual.

i personally still don't get it why people avoiding ranked mode..
it's there to help you match with similar skill opponent.. why avoid it.

losing rank or LP shouldn't take away the enjoyable part of the game.
in fact it help you meet with easier opponent

Oh, I'll definitely be getting the new Fatal Fury game day one. But back on the topic, I could still be swayed when the Sandalphon gameplay showcase comes out. If the game goes on a generous discount for Season 2, maybe I'll wake up feeling generous one day and just pity buy this just for Sandalphon.

The fact it would trigger certain individuals here is also a big factor. You never know.
