despite having a load of skills to throw out in neutral and some strong setups to catch you off guard, everyone will just play 66L and strike/throw as usual which can make him look oppressive (nerf 66L btw)
not gonna call him mid though, most shotos on this game are sort of strong when used correctly
like gran, or corner-to-corner katalina
I thought they nerfed Katalina's corner-to-corner combo?
Just want to point out that Komodo dragons are from Indonesia and not Afghanistan.
but the end situation still stands as you are at the corner, and she is in your face at point blank range
Back to on topic though, I don't own Sandy going to wait for some other characters later in the line up before I clown on Season 2 pass, but from what I've seen fighting him and high level players, he's a very strong solid character. I don't think he's as busted as some people were making him out to be----but he's strong. I think people feel like his kit is overloaded because of how versatile elements make him. Picking the right element for the right MU makes the game infinitely better for you instead of just defaulting to water. Along with the fact how solid some of his normals are and he can just pressure you with the usual 66L while also having a fair bit of skills in his kit that leaves you either safe/plus on bloc k especially if you don't know the knowledge checks is what could make him feel oppressive. I will say this though at least from what a friend who has him in Master told me, you sort of do have to play a bit on point with him or pressure is kind of hard to start up.
