they cut down the RPG mode!?

oh my god, i went from 100% hype to 10%
this was about the only reason i played the OG versus,
i read it has no more levelling, gears at all, or basically anything
just go stage to stage? sounds boring like a arcade mode with extra dialog.

WHAT?! Is this true?! I might as well just play the old one then?! I straight up own it but waited 6 months to get this one instead because everyone said it was going to be much better and include all the story part of the previous game!!

i'm looking it up they not only cut down stages (since you have nothing to level up)
but you got nothing to level, everyones static on stats, no weapons period, no summon ticket menu at all, shop just seems for costumes and weapon skins not much else
its basically boss fight to boss fight it looks like.
so yeah, just an extra arcade mode to me.

hows that? you can't just pick it again? or is it only whoever was in party at that point?

Hopefully it will be like original Versus, where a bunch of content and gamemodes were added after the fact. The base game originally was pretty bare bones.

But yeah the single player modes do seem to be a step down, even if the competitive aspect is greatly improved.

they just cut all the "Grind time" on purpose, i guess so people get through it faster, people who don't wanna level and deal with equips i guess.
i mean it'll be faster... but boring
definitely hope thats the case they fix it back later, but i'm not betting on it.

guys i think also you cannot coop in storymode since i have been trying to and only CPU it tells me for companion

its usually after some chapter you can do that on OG, but if thats not it then very sad.

While we are on singleplayer stuff:
I didn't buy the original because I heard that arcade mode is super barebones, and I really like a good arcade mode. Is there any improvement in that area (endings etc.)?

Yeah same boat. Was super hyped until I heard story mode is basically just a another version of arcade. RPG mode was mostly the thing that had me excited for the sequel. Guess I’ll just wait for Relink

the versus original? RPG mode was really good if you wanted story, arcade was just that, fighitng AI
