NA and Asia/Japan are the most populated regions and typically have no trouble for match making as long as you're not playing during a time while people are asleep or at work/school.
I've heard Europe or some other regions can be very spotty.
There's a free edition that grants you access to most of the online features. You can simply give that version a try to see how it is in your region before deciding if this is something you wanna stick around for.
You hate the game for year but still keep playing. Could you perhaps a tsundere?
Are there any fighting games you consider good? Personally I think there are several fair criticisms, but I enjoy the game regardless.
The character design in Granblue is generally more appealing to me than Strive and I don't have the time or energy to play more than one fighting game at a time while being able to actually improve. So I never tried Strive, but I concur that this game is better than past Guilty Gear games I have played where I only really enjoyed using Jam.
I think what you're feeling is developers catering to spectators more than players. Viewers like flashing lights and big turn-arounds and the game's quality is actually not that important in that regard.
I actually had to give up fighting games for the most part because the quality overall has continued to go down instead of up. I've learned to play just for fun because there's no point investing too much into these games because the developers don't seem to care as much as the players about a good playing experience. Not to mention how much the games are changed post-release. I don't play Strive at all but it's a way different game than it was at launch. If you liked an older version, tough luck.
To be fair, one cannot write off fun as a bad experience so as long as it's at least fun to most people, mission accomplished I guess. However, if you're not having fun, remember life is much too short to spend time on things that do not benefit you in a positive way.
nevermind the really bad balance and belial never getting nerfed, note the systems in place that punish defensive play awfully hard (i hate the brave system) and incentivises more active offense and mixups, also doesn't help when you have risk-free gameplans for some characters, otherwise you need good reaction time
sure people like to see "more exciting" explosive gameplay but the way they designed this game feels more of a stress inducing experience that forces you to play one way
seeing how we drop in player count hard about like roughly one week after updates or dlc (on steam normally 3k peak dropping to 300-400) really shows this game can't keep casuals despite this game being more "beginner friendly"
really like this game but it's hard to recommend playing long term
very pretty looking typical trademark arcsys kusoge
im kinda more referring to the balancing of the game, if we were to use a analogy, if granblues balancing is comparable to a clown show, strives the whole damn circus
Gawd, THANK YOU. I won't take a bullet for this game's balance issues, but I jumped on board even with the waning fanbase because Tekken 8. SF6, and GGST are WORSE in terms of balance. Seriously. I can fight 60% of the cast on any given day in this game. I gave up when I had to fight the same three characters over and over and over in the other games I listed. "Just git guuuuuud!" No, I'll go play a game where 90% of my matches aren't Ken/Akuma/Gief/Nago/Nago/Nago/Nago/Leo/RAM/RAM/RAM.
