About Belial

Since Tekken is fubar for a bit (possibly several months) I was interested in picking GBVSR up again after a year. I was having mad fun with Belial during the first 2 months of the game coming out. But now doing some research I see conflicting thoughts about Belial, many say he has been nerfed so hard everyone is abandoning him others say its just moderate nerfs etc.
Since 90% of the reason I'd go back to GBVS is Belial what's the general consensus?

He had some bs moves pushback adjusted and some plus frames turned minus and some other minor changes on his skills, other than that he is still a menace like he always will be. now if they could only adjust the rest of the cast and some universal mechanics we would be all good but that's asking for too much atm. game is even more ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tho since release, idiots think that plus frames = skill.

Belial is still arguably the best character on the cast, his most recent nerf was relatively minor and didn't make a big difference.

he's more or less an all-rounder, most of his nerfs were put in place to make him less oppressive when he's on the offensive like his projectiles and 2M (plus on block low lol) after 66L or c.L pokes, because why not stay plus on block

he's still strong as is post nerf, and this game likes to keep boss characters like belial relatively strong

He's still a good character, probably one step below top tier. Most of what made him good is still there, good normals, good specials, good combos, he's just a bit less cheap in how he builds up his levels.

Nah, Lucilius is significantly worse. He is a very weak character without BL5 and they made it super hard to get to that with the nerfs. He also has no meterless reversal, making it even easier for the opponent to rush him down and overwhelm him, preventing him from ever leaving BL1-2. He gets snowballed so easily now, it's not even worth playing him.

People saying Lucilius is still a top tier character or anything above mid tier are clueless.

and all he got was nerfs to sword level gain slowing down his win condition

You certainly do, quite a bit, in fact. Though, admittedly, not very well, if your rank peak and playtime are any indication.

Anyway, I don't feel like dragging this on needlessly, you're obviously wrong on Lucilius. I can't blame you, it's only natural to have these views when you can't break past S++ rank. Keep thinking Lucilius is top tier lol.
