to add to vikala being generic i am pretty sure the idol girl character trope has been done to hell and back, not my cup of tea but she's a popular character in the end of the day apparently
because she's cute ? cute means generic ?
we don't ofter see rat girls, especially idol rat girls. and if you'll say hakos baelz from hololive, she was created years after vikala and could actually be inspired by vikala.
if you want generic designs in granblue rising :
lancelot, siegfried, percival, gran, djeeta, katalina, narmaya, vane.
those would be better candidates for "generic design".
"there is a ton of cool and unique characters in GBF yet people have really ♥♥♥♥ taste."
I don't know, I really think that someone saying that vikala has a generic design is probably the one with really bad taste.
but whatever, every time a fighting game releases a kawaii uwu character, like sylvie paula paula from KoF15 for example, plenty of people are here to ♥♥♥♥ on the character for no reason, just because it's not their taste, and just insult other people to have "bad taste".
you're the only one to be salty here.
If you like to argue about people tastes go outside and take a deep breath of fresh air mah bruda
but of all characters, vikala would be one of the least characters that would fit the "generic" definition.
"something that is exactly typical of the kind of thing mentioned, and that has no special or unusual characteristics."
"lacking imagination and so not original"
if vikala was on an "idol show", she could probably fall into this definition, but I had yet to see a girl becoming an idol rat girl as a double personality to defeat her past traumatisms, in a fantasy world.
thus making her "unique", not "generic".
I don't say that the character is good or bad. you are free to hate vikala for being unique.
but hating her for being generic when she's not is ridiculous.
My wife said she is too "Vanilla/Cute"
ima keep it 100 with you chief, idk how under the blue sky that you can say that Vikala looks anything like Anila, unless your saying that they both share the same "cute-esq" character trait, in that case id agree
When the trailer showed how they fight each other, I needed to actually put on glasses lmao
Its like "why the f Anila blast off fireworks? Oh wait"
dawg ima need to break the bad news but you need to keep them glasses on cause i just went back and watched the trailer and i could easily tell whos who, they dont wear the same outfit at all, only thing i can give you is that they both do have pretty similar color schemes but that's about it (honestly i htink the fact they have similar color schemes might be the reason you think they have the same outfit and in that perspective i wouldn't blame you for needing a double take)
