This game is weird.

It feels really slow and to simple. I know lot folks like it but this is not a fighting game. This is a simplify boring game that has bland characters. I'm sorry am not going with the crowd with this one why should I buy this game? Its not good and you should want more from your fighting games then a nerfed version. Please Explain to me how this game is a good fighting game?

Why are we still giving this guy the time of day, it's clear he doesn't want to listen to reason just let this thread die already and stop feeding him attention.

I will say I have no idea where you're getting 140 player base from??? I'm checking both steam charts and steam DB there is 641 players as of right now with the 24hr peak being 1k which falls in with what the other poster was saying.

You dislike the game and you're entitled to your opinion sure, but again you have given no actual concrete proof that the game is objectively bad when an overwhelming amount of reviews say otherwise outside of "the player base has dropped" or your own opinions of "this game is slow" "this game isn't like good FGs that I like." This ISN'T a big FG series like SF, BB, GG, or Tekken---it's a niche franchise to begin with, so obviously the player base is going to fall off when bigger known titles are dropped---or be smaller compared to better known titles. Like others have said if you find the game so bad stop coming to the forums. At this point you're just posting for the sake of arguing and attention.

Anyways stop giving this guy the time of day at this point he's just thriving from the clout.

I don't know why ppl keep commenting on this. Thought would die already. Also what clout am I getting from this? I already to told you why I think its bad. I didn't state it was objectively bad. I said it was slow. boring, and feels bad to play. I wanted to know what ppl like about it to create a dialog but it seems ppl here rather attack me personally then to discusses it out. I find it funny ppl in the Halo community is more understanding then you guys.

You are right that's b/c ppl are not listening so I have to repeat myself, explain why, and prove their wrong with evidence for my opinions. They only attack me for saying its not a good game or a fighting game while I explain why that is case. Its damn mob who can't give good reasons other then I like it for the most part. damn, came here asking for reason why ppl like this game, was given answer but keep shouting this thing that thing is objectively dumb (as if that would totally not viewed as an insult), while reiterating your preferences... that would be equivalent to LTG hurling "youre trash" nonstop to shut up the opponent.

I'm going to assume you meant game and not novel. I'm sure if I played the game enough I can get good at it but given the amount I played idc for it. It doesn't feel like a fighting game. Let me define what a fighting game is in my opinion. I fighting game needs to have inputs commands, normals, specials, and meter. SF2 is the base of what a Fighting game is. When you add more things to it or simplify it to much I think its not at its core what a fighting game is. There are many games out their that a classify as fighting game that don't fit the SF2 base line. Those are sub-genre games that step away from the norm. Like arena fighters or Smash Bros. This are not consider true fighting games b/c they don't have the same aspects as what defines a fighting game. Granblue Fantasy Versus is a combination of the two with zero identity of what it wants to be. I think it fits more on the side of sub-genre fighting game then what a fighting game is.

Sure I can do that. Its pretty easy to get into if your using controller, It can help you understand how fighting games work, and teaches you timing which is good for fighting games. Many of the stuff in the game can be uses to play fighting games. Much like arena fighters and Smash Brother games. From what I played using a fighting stick it doesn't feel right and that isn't to say controller players in fighting games are bad. Its just a matter of what is comfortable to you. Now if you want to play a proper fighting game you in need to learn how to do input commands. This game can help you practice that if you decide to use them for less cool downs.

Why not just write it off as not a real fighter and be done with it, let devs try everything. Also wouldn't it be classified as an anime fighter and a lot don't consider that a real fighting game anyways?

This game is more of a real fighter than much of the ♥♥♥♥ that has been shat out before us in recent years. The graphics have very little to do with this. Back in the day Street Fighter Alpha and Street Fighter III had anime graphics, so did the spinoff games like CvS2.

Guilty Gear back in the day was not so much an 'anime' fighter, but a hyper fighter. Unlike street fighter and many knockoffs where combat was primarily done on the ground, in GG combat resumed in the air. The series added airdashes and double jumping to facilitate this, giving players more control over their characters while in the air. If you look at the original Guilty Gear you'll notice quite easily that the graphics aren't nearly as anime like as they became in later installments of the game and that is simply because anime/cartoon graphics have a tendency to age really well while also maintaining good fidelity, which is pleasant for players' eyes. Of course, they threw out most of the fighting game when they shat out the piece of garbage named Strive and what remained is no longer a hyperfighter and more of a street fighter with better graphics.

GBVSR is not a hyperfighter, it's more closely related to Third Strike and it has some other things mixed in from different games. And the stuff they added hasn't been as gamebreaking as for example YRCs, Blitzes, Focus attacks, Drive Rushes, etc. So far the only things people have complained about is the input system and cooldowns, both of which are non-issues. Cooldown management comes with time and can be avoided by not using the H variants of the moves (or by playing Nier/2B). And the input system... I just don't get why people care about how you enter a special move. The priority should be on outsmarting your opponent, not on having players enter 'complex' motions and praying they don't ♥♥♥♥ up.

For all the OP's complaining, I don't get what he wants out of this thread. He opened the thread with "Why do people play this game?" then gets responses about how people feel about the game and why they play it and then tells them they are full of ♥♥♥♥ and calls them retarded. He then complains about getting attacked personally when people retaliate and wonders why the discussion isn't a discussion anymore.

And Capcom hasn't delivered one in basically a whole decade.

SF4 was mid.
SF5 was garbage.
SF6 is better than 5, what is the equivalent of painting a trash bag gold and calling it good loot.
