I am using a PS5 controller. My only options were Xbox controls or the standard L, M, H, ect. Change it in the menu.

What's the issue? That you can't have Playstation button prompts? Or that you can't find it in the menu?
There is no Playstation prompts for PC.

I own a Dualsense, the game DOES have PS buttons now and considering free version and normal version are indeed 2 different games in STEAM i don't know if this gonna work for the normal version but for the free version:

Right click on your game in your library -> properties -> controller and either disable Steam input or default (controlled by the game/app).

This worked for me BUT the game still have the multi prompt bug from beta, it may show xbox/kb/arcade/PS prompt combined or it will get bugged and it seems to happens only with playstation 4/5 controllers. Also i have the dualsense plugged on my pc, with Bluetooth probably won't show any ps buttons (haven't tested yet since the game have a horrible delay while on BT)

There's no PS button prompts on PC as far as I'm aware.

I'm using a DualShock 4 USB-connected tp the PC, and I'm seeing Playstation glyphs. The game automatically sets it; no in-game setting to change, at least on my side.

if it helps, I have "Playstation Controller Support" set to "Enabled in Games w/o Support" in the general Steam Settings > Controller.
(would test the setting more, but I'm away from my controller atm for 2 more days)
I just have my ps5 pad plugged in and it takes precedence over my hitbox for button prompts. Steam controller support has a tendency to prevent games from seeing PlayStation controllers as PlayStation controllers so disabling that should be enough to get PlayStation button icons.

Since someone suggested the exact opposite, I'll elaborate a bit. Steam can tell games that you're using a PlayStation controller but there's a lot of games that don't check, so steam defaults to telling the game it's an Xbox controller just to make sure it works. So either setting could be the solution, depends on how the devs set it up.

If I disable it, won't the controller not work since the game has no PS5 controller support. Are there any extra steps?

So since I'm actually able to look now, I checked what settings everything defaulted to. It seems like when Valve started updating their controller support, my settings got changed to "Enabled in Games w/o Support" when that was added. Rising, naturally, has Playstation support enabled because of this.

Prior to seeing your comment and checking, I was not aware this setting was added and falsely assumed things based on how I previously had my settings.

How do you change it on steam deck when connected with the dock?

steam controll is kinda funky w/ the kitsune since it's recognized as a ps5 controller. there is a mod you can use to change the buttons to PS icons though, It's what I used for my kitsune, doesn't change anything just purely cosmetic.
