Its crazy this bug is still here after so many months and it seems to be one of the easiest bug to fix. Just have the two clients talk and make sure they both see the same character selected
In my example, I start the game up with three leverless controllers plugged in. I go to the Versus mode and notice that the first two controllers (1) and (2) will appear and work just fine, but controller (3) will not get picked up. The only way to get the 3rd controller to work is to unplug it and then plug it back in.
However, doing this and then entering into a Versus match while someone is using that 3rd controller can cause a soft-lock. The match will start up just fine, but if the player on the 3rd controller presses the button that brings up the menu, the game will flash the "Here Begins Fate's Episode" message that you normally see in online play. The game will then transition to a black screen and become unresponsive. The only way to exit is to force a shut down via the Windows task manager (or through the Steamdeck's home menu). This bug is repeatable; I'm able to cause it to occur every time I perform the steps listed above.
This is definitely a Granblue Rising issue, as I can load up another Arc Systems game like Guilty Gear Strive and all of my controllers get picked up and work just fine in the Versus mode there. Even vanilla Granblue Versus works correctly.
This soft-lock issue is pretty serious and hopefully gets checked out.
The tracking regularly breaks and makes the butterfly fly towards one corner of the stage.
I will provide three examples that can be consistently reproduced (done on 12/04/2024):

It has occasionally broken on other occasions, too.
I hope this can help with finding an issue with the move.
Ex. The character I get on my side is different from the one my opponent gets, resulting in one match having two sides that all controls still go through but almost immediately gets desynced.
I'm sure it's because I have one character not checked and he had everything but it's still a bug that breaks the match so I figured I'd report it.
