+ additional input lag and worse connectivity.
What the heck? There is plenty of proof on top of common sense for that. Just open youtube and type in "input lag pc ps4 ps5".
Every single title since the beginning of time had more input lag on consoles. Hell. Some titles have even more input lag on PS5 than on PS4 (DBFZ for instance).
- For example, you cannot access any graphical settings on console. That means that you cannot decide to switch off Vsync
- You are not allowed to reduce the amount of prerendered frames on consoles. Prerendered frames are - by definition - delayed frames.
- Console games are made to look pretty in screenshots and not in motion. They run @4k natively which also adds delay.
- Downscaling also adds delay.
- Console games have horrible frame pacing/timing which also, guess what, adds delay
- Many people play on wireless controllers which also add about 10ms of delay.
- There are no low-latency modes on console.
- Consoles have more inherent system lag.
- Nvidia reflex reduces input lag by about 30ms.
- Consoles are not rarely connected to TVs which have higher response times. Even those monitors console players are using are slower than dedicated gaming monitors.
- You can also use a high refresh rate monitor on PC. Even when your graphics are rendered in 60 fps you can display display each rendered frame much sooner on a faster monitor.
I can go on and on... if you really want this backed up any further, then you clearly have no idea about anything whatsoever and should be ignored.
PS5 version had over twice the lag of the PS4 version in the beta
There were also older tests where button presses have been checked against game responses. At 60fps the response time for PC (Windows) was 2 frames, for PS3 3 frames, PS4 and PS2 4 frames and I forgot the numbers for the Xboxes, but nobody uses those anyway.
I can remember how I repurchased a number of games for PC after having played on console for the most part in the past. Specifically DBFZ comes to mind. Not only the connection quality was much better on PC but I immediately felt the reduction in input delay. It was several frames (I believe 3-4?) making overheads reactable online! It is a completely different game on PC and I will not buy a fighting game for console ever again.
Reasons:
PS+ sub required to play online ($$$)
Input delay and capped FPS on PS
Steam has better community/friend options than PSN
MODS
1. Mature Audience/Players on PC due to more children playing on Consoles; players will easily accept a loss without going into twitter for a discussion about whom is the better player.
2. Console players need to afford Playstation PRO if they don't want to endure the higher latency.
3. PC Players Can turn VSync OFF.
4. PC has No subscription for online play.
5. No mods available for console version of the game.
6. PC has ability to reduce graphics to improve performance while playing online.
7. PC also has the ability to increase graphics for online live streaming or screenshots.
8. Graphical Tuning, PC can further improve the game's graphics beyond the in-game maximum settings. Example, I use vkBasalt to increase the CAS Image Sharppening in order to expose details that couldn't be seen otherwise in-game.
Even tho we had less play count, it was totally worth the price on PC for the 1st GBFVS; Now with GBFVSR out having cross-play and everyone playing together, prepare to see all the "angry players" on youtube mad about the game 'cus they couldn't beat someone else online.
ps: not complainning about cross-play, just stating some facts here.
Tbh both versions are fine and the game has crossplay so its whatever. If anything I'd be wary of PC and cheaters, thats always been an issue with mutiplayer on PC
At least that's what the phrasing suggests. :P
