In terms of current Balance? Nier, Zeta, Lancelot, Seox and the 5th is debatable.

In terms of popularity? Narmaya, Anila are definitly in the Top 5

If you're trying to draw the most popular characters in the community, you can really just do anything that's not Anre and people will eat it up. No one plays the man so he has much less of a following, unfortunately.

However if you're just asking people for what they think their favorites are?
Eustace, Vaseraga, Belial, Gran, Vane (he'll be in the game soon :])

It's kinda different depending on which cygames game you play ngl

But if it's GBVS specifically then mine would be narmaya, anila, zooey, Cagliostro, and ferry

But overall you don't even need to know GBF to know narmaya, she's like GBF's poster girl

Top 5 in this game are the characters with the best mixup and pressure. So look at Seox, Nier, Lancelot, Siegfried, Zeta, Belial. All these characters have a lot of buttons that are safe, frametrap, odd timings for punish, reckkas etc.

That said, when they go through and nerf some of the pressure oriented stuff, if they do, the tier list will probably shift heavily towards neutral control. Assuming they mainly nerf neutral skips, so in that regard characters a long the lines of like Ferry, Anila, Beelzebub might become a lot better.

S+++ Nier

S++ Zeta, Soriz, Seox

S+ Vira, Siegfried

These are the best 6 IMO. Lancelot, Belial and probably Cagliostro I feel are S. Everything about Nier is broken and needs to be nerfed. S++ tier have a few moves that push them over the edge (full screen fireball punishes that lead to 50% combos). S+ have all the tools (DP, plus frames, etc...) without any weaknesses.

You can win with any character, but you will win more with these characters.
