What are you talking about? Most are hand draw animation with some CG help in like any Anime out there.

See around 17:30. This isn't cell anumation, that's an obvious skeletal animation. With models looking oh-so GBVS.

The first episode of the anime aired in 2017. VS came out in 2020. It's two different 3D models that are both aiming to recreate the same character, so of course they're similar looking.

The only epsiode that matters is Episode 13, Djeetas Episode, her 2 min Intro sums up the other 12, as literally nothing happend apart from the crew joining together.

Adding to this, the only obvious model there is the hydra... which doesn't even show up in VS. Gran is pretty clearly hand drawn but animated alongside the model, Katalina and Lyria are almost completely still and definitely not models. They might have used some 3D tricks with the armor pieces but the characters themselves are definitely not 3D.

anime studios do so to not overwork their staff
(they're overworked anyway )
