It doesn't really impact the way i think of my opponent in the end and I'm happy to just fight whoever regardless.
thats not really dumbed down the inputs never mattered check out battle for the grid or take a gander at riot games project L
For example:
Hitting an opponent with a 5H and then immediately cancelling into a fireball will mean the fireball always does the same damage regardless of input.
Hitting an opponent with a counterhit 2H and then afterwards using a fast special move once you've recovered will give you increased damage on the technical input.
Being able to do this isn't entirely necessary to play the game at a decent level, but on certain characters you lose a pretty substantially amount of damage over the course of their most powerful combos. These rules apply to supers as well.
Either adopt the style you think is better or get good enough to take on someone less likely to flub their DP. Not relying on error in execution to come out on top would make you stronger overall and isn't that the real reason to rise n grind?
