So is it true that they took away the benefits from using a technical input?
I heard that they made it so non-technical and technical inputs will not give benefits for either side, to me that seems like their punishing those who don't like to play dumbed down gameplay.

just use what is comfortable or you are used to. Its not punishing even tho im used to motion inputs I just auto pilot the input anyways. and in situations where i want like a fast dp i can so simply with easy input. seems fine to me

Technical inputs give 10% more damage when used in Neutral/outside of combos.

I was wary of it at first as well but in end I warmed up to it. I basically assume a character can do whatever they have as fast as they want to instead of thinking the other player MIGHT just maybe, not have the reaction to DP a jump-in.

It doesn't really impact the way i think of my opponent in the end and I'm happy to just fight whoever regardless.

For absolute clarity on the 10% damage increase, it's not just that the hit is raw, it's whether or not you cancelled into it. If you throw a button and then do a special by cancelling the normal, you won't get the damage boost. However, if you do something with a lot of hitstun and then link into the special, you'll get the boost.

For example:
Hitting an opponent with a 5H and then immediately cancelling into a fireball will mean the fireball always does the same damage regardless of input.

Hitting an opponent with a counterhit 2H and then afterwards using a fast special move once you've recovered will give you increased damage on the technical input.

Being able to do this isn't entirely necessary to play the game at a decent level, but on certain characters you lose a pretty substantially amount of damage over the course of their most powerful combos. These rules apply to supers as well.

Only on SBA/SSBA. Otherwise it's full damage.

It's any move. Anila's 623L does 1100 damage, while 6S does 1000. 10% exactly.

Good to know. Thought they completely removed all benefit from technical inputs. If it had no benefit, really don't see the reason for keeping them in there and just make everything simple. Why do something complicated when it gives no benefit. Honestly, I was expecting them to completely abolish complicated inputs in this version to streamline the simple input method as a lot of fighting games are shifting to this method.

I'm glad this game has both. I wouldn't be able to play without technical inputs because I need the intentionality to not misinput my specials. Heck, I'm not playing DNF specifically because I'd suck at it and find it difficult to learn. Turns out different control styles affect folks in different ways.

Either adopt the style you think is better or get good enough to take on someone less likely to flub their DP. Not relying on error in execution to come out on top would make you stronger overall and isn't that the real reason to rise n grind? :SF6_Gladius:

I prefer technical inputs to "Oh hey press 1 button along with a direction to do special" or even worse "Press this button repeatedly to do an auto-combo" I like my games to knock me down and make me have to get good. BBCF, GGXrd/AC+R, KoFXIII ect. These games make me want to get better because of how difficult the learning curve is, it feels rewarding and it sucks to see game devs that I once looked at as some of the best when it comes to Fighting games stumble and fall into casual friendly territory. I mean look at SF6 at least you have the option to have both Modern and Classic controls not unlike some Fighting games today but I digress, that was me going off on a nearly decade long tangent that I have strong opinions of. The subject was whether Technical inputs and Non-Technical inputs did the same thing, which I recall someone on YT bringing up that they did and that irked me.

Remember how easy it was to do Chun cr.mk xx SA2 in 3s? Wait until you feel how much easier it is to hit confirm off of a single attack and press two buttons for super. If I'm poking with 2M and have full meter, then you better believe a super is coming out if I visually see it hit.

Its basically removed. 10% in neutral is nothing compared to being able to frame 1 DP a jab check, or walking charge with easy inputs.
