Other options depend on the situation and what character you're playing.
Projectiles, any kind of gap closer specials, or just standing heavy normal to contest your opponent's approach if you know they're coming, etc.
There is no one-size-fits-all answer and you'll always need to take the match up into consideration but 66L is def not the only option. It is great pressure tool no doubt but repeated use also results in being predictable, and can be easily countered by a DP/Super, or just get crushed by a heavy normal or a H. special.
also cry about it and play a different game if you only want to run offense, there is more to fighting games than that although this is hard for the monkey brain to comprehend
Spot dodge it, and then just beat them to death. It's hilarious.
What the ♥♥♥♥? No. Don't listen to this person. The dodge animation is 29 frames. The 66L animation is 20 frames, which means the person doing 66L will have 9 frames of advantage if you attempt to dodge it. If you try to press a button after dodging a 66L you will eat a full combo.

I agree that guy has no idea what they are saying, and whatever they are on, it's probably best they keep it to themselves.
I firmly believe the main appeal in games like GBVSFR is that you have to work for your openings and it is as strike/throw as a game can be versus many modern games that allow you to brute-force yourself into easy 50% damage each time you get the opponent to block.
While you want more offense people are bothered by 66L (I personally do not mind it). Maybe you should reconsider whether this game is for you. I recently played MK1 and suffered through roughly 300 hours of this torture. This game may be for you. It is all about offense and defense is useless unless you lab the game and every single character for a year.
