I've yet to see a Soriz to use his unique action and install.

I get that his unique action is bad, but isn't it vital to his comeback mechanic?
Still remains the fact the most that play him play the most annoying, 2 input gameplay tho.
Spot dodging is also extremely useful against him. He'll lunge right into your spot dodge completely open for you to have your way with him. This will take a lot more practice than simply letting him lunge into your attacks, however.
So, assert your space dominance and they will be wary of doing it and change up their play going forward making it a bit less irritating match. Once that's done you can also start baiting them into their super armor for free throws. It's almost guaranteed they will try to rely on it when you start laying on pressure.
On the contrary, Nier won most of characters that I lost to when I was using Narmaya.
So far my most annoying character to fight against is Cagliostro and Sheep
