Unit placement question

is it drag and drop or can you simply click to select it, move your mouse then click to place units/towers ? I hate drag and drop with a passion, esp on touch screens

You can place towers by selecting, and then clicking where you want to place them. You can place multiple of the same tower without having to re-select them each time. There are also hotkeys for each tower so you don't even need to select them with the mouse if you don't want to. Just hit the hotkey (number) and click to place on the map.
